I had to google that, never heard of the thing! (in case anyone is interested, this was the first result I got)

Despite showing a fair few symptoms of diabeties, and being tested as borderline twice, luckily it seems the reason my blood sugar levels are so high is merely alcohol and red bull abuse. Yay me!
Link wont work for me :( Everyone make sure they are tested for diabetes regularly, I found out at my eye test after being told for ages I was only borderline... and Im not that old either (42, just). Forgot about the alcohol, boohoo :(

Didnt cook the weirdo grain stuff on Monday, just stuck with the chicken and veg. Yesterday the husband cooked, lamb burger in tomato flat bread with a green salad. Tonight its the turn of the dreaded QUINOA! Chilli cooking in the slow cooker, rest of the family having it with white rice, and im stuck with very weirdo grain ;) We usually have cheesy nachos too, but theyve had to be knocked on the head. Wish me luck!

You are aware of the 'beans in a slow cooker risk' - http://www.home-ec101.com/cooking-kidney-beans-slow-cooker-crock-pot/ ?

There were some problems when slow cookers appeared in the late 70s..
I always thought it was an old wives take about kidney beans being poisonous if not cooked properly. Luckily I have used tinned kidney beans (I believe the toxins are removed during the canning process), so I shouldnt poison anyone with my cooking tonight ;) Thanks for the info.

I never knew that! Although I always use canned anyway.
Oh, it is true - and there were numerous cases when it first became trendy. Tinned beans will be well boiled prior to the canning process and avoid the soaking time, as well..

Well last nights Quinoa wasnt a success, it was very soggy so I guess I added too much water. Tonight Ive had chicken stirfry and the rest of the family have chicken and veg pie, cauliflower, broccoli and boiled potatoes with gravy...

Tonight I shall be eating from processed foodstuffs found in the reduced counter, due to extreme laziness. I have 2 reggae reggae chicken breast, some chorizo in red wine tapas to chuck over them, a tray of Mediterranean veg and some spicy wedges. Total cost about £3.50 :)

Reckons it'd feed two though, the lying swines!

Tonight we are being really naughty...Full English for tea, sausage, bacon, fried eggs, mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans and plum tomato, all topped off with some HP brown sauce :) Sadly I forgot the black pudding (but only I like it anyhow). What do you all have in your 'Full English'? Brown sauce or Tomato sauce? Fried bread?

I had fried bread for breakfast the day of my French O Level oral exam. Well, my conversational French was completely rubbish and I hadn't a hope. The first question was what had I had for breakfast - 'Pain Frite', I said. He said to me 'You've just said 'fried bread'. 'Yes', I said, pleased that I'd at least got one thing right. 'You mean bread that has been fried?' It turned out that he had no concept of such a delicacy and we spent the fifteen minutes allotted to assess my standard discussing fried bread, in English. When we'd run out of time, he said, 'You'll be alright'...

Any other question and he would have found me out.

That meant that I scraped a bare pass in French, which I shouldn't have had. That also meant that I then had the minimum number of O Levels required to go on to do A Levels, of which I also scraped enough to come to the Poly and I've never escaped..

Without that piece of fried bread the path would have diverged at that point - off in some different direction.

I made a pie, using just lard as the fat content in the pastry.

It did not work out in the way i had hoped.
