Hi all i was jus wondering if anyone has any recomendations of lakes, stretches of canal etc that would be good sport for use on the pole. I have recently took up fishing again after not going for 4 years and have managed to get the missus into it too. But back then i was all for Carp fishing and now the prospect of it bores me just sitting waiting for a nudge on the bite alarms.
Thanks in advance
Sean

The Staffs & Wosc at Radford bank is under Izaak Walton Frank Holt does the club book the stretch by deep lock at Acton Trussel was under Wolves AA last time i looked or you could go out to the Shroppie Union Anchor Inn at High Offley its a day ticket from the pub. Then there's Seighford Lakes course and fly Id give Baden Hall a miss its full of Crayfish so im told take a look at the Sow free stretch if you can find a spot to get in through the weed there is some big chub in there
Hemp and Red Maggot work best on the cut's I've mentioned

How's the Sow fishing these days? Spent many teenage hours, twixt Shakey Bridges & the town Plenty of Chub, Dace, Perch & Roach; Stafforshire Wildlife issues very resonable year ticket for their stretch of the Sow & the Pools at Doxey behind Ecce' Rd Cemetory. As well as the fore mentioned, there used to be Bream in the river, in the Pools aswell, along with Tench, Roach & Carp. Tight Lines let us know how you go on!:welldone:

Fished baden hall in the past and i wasnt overly impressed if im honest, carney is the same and bishton is quite a nice place to fish, doesnt seem to be masses in the pools but always very busy in the summer which puts me off. Pool on wildwood is owned by some association now and apparently its rather pricey to fish and tbh i wouldnt pay a lot to fish there considering most of the fish are bought in from the canal. The cut by the second bridge on radford bank side is one of my favourite spots to fish. nice wide stretch of the canal plenty of reeds on far bank and a chance for a nice carp (caught my first double figure from there). use to fish the sow years back normally just had the odd chub perch etc did once have a nice 6lb jack pike not bad considering i'd never been pike fishing before

We usually go Baden in the summer with the kids . We usually catch quite a few monster Carp. Even my son who was 5 at the time was catching fish every few minutes

Hi, can anyone positively confirm the Eastern boundary for free fishing on the Sow, does it extend beyond the Fairway bridge and if so to where?
Thanks

I see people fishing in the balance pond next to the old rugby club....surely there won't be much in there? unless it was stocked?
