Flood Warning.

Right - it takes it that the postcode you're asking about is in relation to whether that specific area will actually be subject to a flood risk, rather than 'will there be floods in that vicinity'. Sandyford Brook does come up if I put in the postcode of ATS. It doesn't recognise just ST16 as a postcode area and so, if you are interested in floods in the area, then it's best to use 'Stafford', or some other geographical name.

Sandyford Brook at Sandon Road, Stafford

River levels are rising in response to the rain last night and are expected to continue rising over the next few hours. At 8.30 am, the level at the Astonfields Road gauge was 1.19 meters. Over the past 24 hours there has been 19 millimetres of rain. There may be a few light showers around today and the river levels may still increase in response to thawing snow due to an increase in temperatures. We will continue to monitor and update as the situation progresses.: Sunday, 27th January 2013 - 8:45 (GMT)

Mmm, beware of problems with the search on the Environment Agency Flood Warnings page - I got no results when I searched with my Postcode, just a few hundred yards from Sandyford Brook, but the traditional 'flood at the garage' did appear when I searched 'Stafford'..

No big deal to me, but it would surely be better if it worked properly.

And they spell Shugborough as Shrugborough, but who cares, enough people round here do that...

This is more user friendly http://www.shoothill.com/FloodMap/ info from the EA but on a map

Enjoying a drop of red.
Yet again, services had to pull cars out of the Meaford flood! Can people not see the width and length of the flood and then guess they may have inlet issues?
That implies thought. Many people apparently don't 'do' thinking on our roads it seems.

Yer not wrong! Something that has also become apparent is awareness of surroundings. While road markings have been covered with snow, many can't tell where the left hand side of the road is? Here's a clue - it's the opposite side to the vehicle approaching you!

Drove home from Hampton Loade last night and the amount of water was mental, but still plenty of numpties who thought normal speed limits should apply....

When the Met Office issue a RED WARNING all the traffic lights in that area turn to red as it is too dangerous to drive
