Quite enjoyed your eggstraordinary story there flossietoo! I used to keep around 48 hens once and managed to shift the eggs just with a sign in the front window. We rarely had more than 3 dozen eggs spare to carry over to the following day!

I'm getting all clucky again now. I want me some chooks again. How do i break the news to her? (deep in thought)

Not related at all but maybe a bit.

I have never in my life ever, not once had eggy bread.

Love eggs, poached, scrambled, fried, .....but never had that.

So lovely peeps, help me on my culinary journey.

Is it just bread dipped in egg? Then what?

Fry in a little butter or oil - simples. Serve with ketchup. What time do I need to be there?? ;)

Start with a couple of Silkies and insist they are kittens. Did you ever keep Indian Runner Ducks? I've got a bit of a hankering but no experience. One of my broodies hatched a clutch of duckling for a neighbour once and they were fab but I only kept them until they were old enough to manage without the hen. I wonder if you can keep them together with hens and if they put themselves to bed or need rounding-up every evening?

Typical bloke.

How much egg? Just egg? How much butter? How long frying?

Anytime after 8.am. Eggs provided. You talk me through it.

Eggy bread is one of those things you completely forget about.

Then one day you think to yourself *i fancies a bit of eggy bread*, you beat a couple of eggs into a shallow bowl that a slice of bread will neatly fit into, immerse your bread, then fry it on either side until it looks good enough to eat. Ketchup is not optional, but an intrinsic part of the experience.

Next thing you know you've been eating eggy bread for breakfast for a week or more, and think perhaps it is time for a change.

Then you forget about it completely and the cycle is complete.

I've recommended the forum to a few people lately, but best stop it if this is the sort of carry-on the new members get up to...

They are just joshing, Carole! Rebecca is a very attractive young woman who has been causing hearts to skip a beat by promising that she is single, available for a date and less than three miles away. She doesn't discriminate, which is refreshingly open-minded of her. She has been following me around, too.

Oh her.

Thanks flossie.

A very attractive young woman causing hearts to skip a beat.....yes that's me alright.

If you happen to like middle aged women that is.

For a brief while, Rebecca was supplanted by a more 'mature' lady who was available for dating - her proximity was not recorded.

Nor whether she had eggs (of any sort) for sale...
