Would applications be considered for someone who:
a) is over 19?
b) can only work part time due to being disabled and recovering from surgery? (I'm talking like 1-2 half days a week initially, potentially up to 16-20 hours in time.)

If not, it's YOUR LOSS! I like filing and data entry (as long as I don't have to do it all the time). =D

Can't say for sure, but most apprenticeships exist because of funding from central government. This funding stops at 19, because obviously anyone 19 and above cannot possibly learn new tricks, being an old dog and everything. Hence most apprenticeships will stipulate 19 and under, nothing to do with the company advertising it just how they get funded.

As for the wages being way above apprentice rates, I noticed that too. For anyone of the right age this looks like a great opportunity, the one at the council is only about £2.30 an hour (i.e. about 5k). Impossible to live on so only of use to those still living at their parents home, long gone are the days when you could actually make a living while learning a trade :(

For the moment, Lunar, all I can say is that I love your attitude!

I have left a message for our HR department and when I know for certain the answers to your queries, I'll come back to you.

Bad administration just really pisses me off and I actually quite like doing it (well). Also, it will pay at least some of the bills - which is helpful in these times of IDS and Atos.

Hi again Lunar
I haven't forgotten you.
The person who could give me definite answers has not been in College. She's back on Monday and I will send you a PM as soon as I can.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Lunar

Unfortunately this is what is called a fully-funded apprenticeship, so as Tek-monkey guessed above, that's why it asks for applications from people aged 16-19. Sorry.

Have you managed to go 'gated' yet?

I could if I wished, but find few of the houses in gated communities have much grounds. There are some in Virginia Water (Wentworth) which might have sufficient grounds.
