You would be forgiven for thinking this was a case of déjà vu...

**NEW INDIAN RESTAURANT OPENING SOON IN (WHAT ONCE WAS) THE CASTLE TAVERN**

The signs are up but it doesn't quite look finished, so I'd say a week or so away from opening. Let's hope they make a good go of it and give their rather heavyweight competition some...err...competition.

There's been a HUGE amount of work done on the interior...will be interesting to see if it's been worth it!

That looks really interesting. I could make out my favourite onion naan and the vegetable specials seem delicious and unusual from the titles. I couldn't read the ingredients though. How do you make the menu bigger? I tried right-clicking, thinking that a magnifying glass icon might appear but it didn't. Then I moved my nose right up to the screen but I could neither read it nor smell curry.

you can't - it's just a low resolution scan, so although you could "blow it up" it wouldn't make it any more legible.. i can just about read most of it.. are there any in partic that you wanted clarification on?

In the top right corner of the page there's a bit that says 'Font size' & 'Bigger', 'Smaller' or 'Reset' - is that any help, or can I only see that as I'm using my phone to view.....

that only affects the text on the website.. the menu is just a JPG, so there is no way to change the size/clarity of it..

i love the description of their "Tandori specialities".. it's not often you see the word "iridescent" on a food menu lol..

I could see Weightwatchers, too. Brilliant idea. Unlikely to be actually low in calories but at least you can enjoy a curry thinking that you are consuming fewer calories than might otherwise be the case.

I was particularly keen to see the vegetable specials on the second page of the menu. I could read the titles but not the ingredients. It is only gluttonous curiosity though, I can see enough to know I'd like to try it and I assume that the actual menu will be bigger than that.

I wasn't interested in just another Indian restaurant. When I want a curry I would always go to Narvana but from what I can see of the menu, this looks different enough to be interesting.

Lol they do a 'Weightwatchers special' too, 10 out of 10 for invention there :)

Wishing you lots of luck Bilash!

i hadn't spotted that! now that is a decent bit of innovation.. like flossie says, i dare say they're not much different to 'normal' curries (surely it would be healthier/lower fat & carbs to have grilled/BBQed meat with a salad, rather than fried in oil on a bed of onions?) but it's a good idea nonetheless..

exactly the same here.. if it was same-old-same-old, i wouldn't even bother going in to try it - i've tried the best, and it's narvana, so i couldn't care less about anywhere else for a curry.. but this place sounds like a slightly different kettle of curried fish, so hopefully they can both co-exist and do well :)

i'm intrigued as to how something being "garnished with coriander in a medium strength sauce" can give it "a true rich Staffordshire flavour" though, as per the 'Balti Dishes' at the top lol..

I'm slightly worried about Tina Tuna......do they name all the fish before cooking it?

Nice to see some alternative dishes.

Some very interesting items there, certainly can see a few oddities I'd like to try. As said, if I want a curry I'd go to Narvana, but sometimes you don't want a curry. Very cheap prices I notice, as most of the specials appear to come with rice. Guessing this is the takeout menu?
