I am struggling to think of a sensible question

Considering your total inability to come up with a sensibile answer is why we are so fond of you, maybe the council meeting will be enlivened by your elected member asking a "marwood special".

Maybe you could ask why the council is wasting taxpayers' money by holding a meeting, when the leader of the BC has admitted to a criminal offence, as per the Constitution (see below) and this matter is being investigated by the police.

As a follow-up, you could ask why the Monitoring Officer and CEO didn't do what they were supposed to do, again as per the Constitution.

Then perhaps SBC could confirm that if the Leader expects to be let off because he offered a sincere apology for his misunderstanding. the same will apply to everyone else in Staffs, whether we rob a bank, don't pay council tax or park on a double yellow line.

There's probably a perfectly reasonable answer, of course...

Code of Conduct for Members

It is a criminal offence to:
Fail to notify the Monitoring Officer of any disclosable pecuniary interest within
28 days of election
• Fail to disclose a disclosable pecuniary interest at a meeting if it is not on the
register
• Fail to notify the Monitoring Officer within 28 days of a disclosable pecuniary
interest that is not on the register that you have disclosed to a meeting
• Participate in any discussion or vote on a matter in which you have a
disclosable pecuniary interest
• As an executive member discharging a function acting alone, and having a
disclosable pecuniary interest in such a matter, failing to notify the Monitoring
Officer within 28 days of the interest.
• Knowingly or recklessly providing information that is false or misleading in
notifying the Monitoring Officer of a disclosable pecuniary interest or in
disclosing such interest to a meeting.

Which development is that? Not the new ALDI site?

Are these the chaps based in Back Passage? at the rear of the Stafford Railway Building Society, home of ....

Ah, one of the same. They also have a HO on Beaconside Technology Park. I'm sure there was some sort of Birmingham connection years back.

I'm probably thinking of the M6.

From the BBC

"Mr Heenan made a full apology to the council in February after a report on BBC Radio Stoke revealed he had not declared his interest in three companies at the Beacon Business Park."

Translation (allegedly): Mr H has for some time failed to disclose umpteen interests. When the BBC investigated, he reluctantly declared some of them and grudgingly admitted his error, but still failed to give a full statement, at the council meeting, as promised. His statement of registered interests is still incomplete, inaccurate and misleading.

Nothing less than a Full disclosure is required, by Law.
The damage has been done, can he ever be trusted again?

Heenan is a member of the Conservative Party.

There are more Conservatives than all the other Parties combined

If he goes he will have to jump because the Conservatives won't dare push

Is this the same business park that has received 2.5m for road access improvements? Interesting

I am an outsider, and from overseas, therefore I have decided to fast-track myself to the position of Chief Constable forthwith from where I can clip a few ears and move people along and generally have a dig around the dodgy councillor types .

Yep, according to info on the SBC and Companies House sites, it's the same ISE Estates, ISE Trading, Greatrex, etc, business park that in 2012 was awarded £1.5m from the LEP (board member, M. Heenan, coincidentally), and in 2013 £1.6m from the DfT Pinch Point fund, the other £700,000-odd coming from ISE, courtesy of Handelsbanken.

And yes, that's Handelsbanken on the Tech Park (proprietor, you know who), coincidentally run by a director of Staffs Railway Building Society. Again coincidentally, SBC invested a million quid or so of our money in Handelsbanken. Small world.

It is indeed a small world, sound like he needs investigating, not just removing as Leader of the Borough Council.
