I've not done anything about it yet. Been sorting out all the other things I need to first. Will register the domain name I want in the next week and probably just set up a single page with basic info on it for now. I am going to be needing something better but have decided it's not a priority.

I'm not going to make a recommendation as there's enough here already.

But I'd avoid 1&1, 123-reg and GoDaddy.

With web hosting, to a degree, what you pay for you get. For a simple HTML site it possibly doesn't matter how old/slow/over subscribed the servers are.

And quality shared hosting is better than a poor quality "VPS" (your own virtualised server).
