Toddler advice ??

Not sure where to post this didn't seem right in "Wanted" section.



I will have my 2 year old Grand daughter staying with me in June while her mum goes on a training course. I need ideas on suitable local places to visit, she dosn't like being in the car for to long.

Stafford park is wonderful for little children, have you seen it? So much to occupy them.

Amerton farm with the animals and little train.

A trip to the canal to watch the narrowboats.

I think Shugborough has a petting zoo but I may be wrong about that.

My daughter loves Trentham Gardens, if you shop at Tesco and use the clubcard vouchers, the annual pass is very good value. (under 5s are free)

You can't go wrong with a picnic at Cannock Chase or Stafford Castle.

As mentioned above the park is great, but it does get packed on nice days.

If the weather isn't great, one of the better soft play centres is in the old railway building accessed through Tesco car park, we've been a few times and it's clean and well set out. I always think the J13 one is a bit grubby and it makes me feel a little claustrophobic.

If you don't want to venture out, I'd recommend investing in a water table, my 18 month old will spend hours filling cups and pouring the water out.

I had forgotten about Trentham gardens.
It's a lovely day out....the actual gardens as opposed to just the retail bit (which is great for grown ups).

Some great ideas there. I didn't know about the playbarn nr Tescos she would definatly enjoy that.

Rudyard Lake - Hire a rowing boat or take a trip on a steam train

Drayton Manor - Thomas land and zoo

Monkey Forest - Trentham

Alton Towers - They have just opened a Cbeebies world - part of Merlin group so might be worth getting an annual pass, depends on which side of 2 she is.

If you collect Nectar points or Tesco club card points you can often visit places like Drayton Manor / Legoland for a very reasonable price.

When she hits the age of 3-4 you might consider buying an annual Merlin pass. At 90cm they can use a lot of the ride at places like lego land / Chessington / Peppa pig world. At 1m they can use most of the rides at the above places.

my kids love amerton farm, there's a playbarn there too..... and the talking magpie :xd:
