Don't get your little girlie panties in bloody twist proactive, that was taken from news letter The gas company did state if the leak was above dangerous levels work would have to be done immediately instead of doing it the same time as the water mains. Clearly it seems the former applies

OK, no problem, as long as you agree to get your facts right for a change.

Yesterday whilst walking into town I noticed the traffic was horrendous, saw people driving through red lights, sitting on yellow boxes and blocking lanes. Two coppers on the beat who had walked past so I asked them if they could do something, they agreed they noticed the issue and could still hear the resulting frustrated horn beeping, but were really glib and patronising with me and told me to report it to highways, to which I said what can they do about people breaking the law ?

Can't understand if the police know there is a problem with people going through red lights and causing gridlock why they don't think its their job to apply the law.

I'm sure we must have a road traffic unit somewhere, where are they?

It makes me really cross, these are our towns arterial routes that are getting gridlocked by idiots who shouldn't be on the roads, how long until an emergency vehicle can't get through in time.

I saw an ambulance stuck at the Lloyds Bank junction on Lichfield road for ages the other week as I walked from town. Even though the ambulance was blasting it's horn, the cars blocking the way just sat there and wouldn't move over even a bit, even though there was a bit of room for manoeuvre. Was hoping the ambulance managed to reach the person it was racing to in time.

Three cheers for our Borough councillors who allowed Tesco and the B & Q site to be built where they are

Stafford station is another nightmare, I went to collect my sister from the 6 pm London train last Friday and the whole area was at a stand still. Whoever thought it was a good idea to share the pick up/ drop off access road with the multi story entrance/exit needs a good slap on the back :bravo: together with a blocked access road, in front of the station entrance, and being forced to rejoin main road before pedestrian crossing make things even more dangerous. :stafford: another excellent example of planning.:master:

We are clearly all too wealthy these days

Cars, trains, London!

Bone shakers all round!

I did warn her about London but she would have none of it, something to do with work apparently. I might well buy a bone shaker, after traversing Stafford's pot holes and speed ramps I am already in need of chiropractor and dental services so would likely not notice the difference. :lorks:

Some laws can't be applied, as the leader of Stafford Borough Council can probably confirm.

Somewhere along the line, it seems it was decided that most of the road network in Stafford was to be controlled by traffic lights. Didn't Stafford at one point have the highest number of traffic lights (per square mile) than any other town/city in Britain? I'm sure I heard somewhere that that was the case.

It certainly feels like it and there's no sign of them slowing down soon, electricity bill must be enormous.

Yep, Stafford was infamous for being 'The place with traffic lights on roundabouts' in the 1970s and 80s.

Well, it seems the Gas repairs on the Weeping Cross roundabouts has finally been fixed!
Roll on Severn Trent digging it all up again next year
No you are wrong, according to our resident spammer impersonator @Gareth the work was finished weeks ago and only lasted a couple of days.

I look forward to the Severn Trent work which, according to him will probably only last for 2 hours one Sunday morning...

It just seems to have been added onto over the years, like the bit around Tesco and the retail park where Argos & Maplins etc is (the Hough?). Usually stay away from those parts of town because of the traffic.

Really looking forward to that ! I have heard conflicting reports about the Milford road closure though. The sign says closed 11th Jan to 15 June but I have been told it will be controlled by traffic lights and the bus will still run on that route. Anyone heard this?
