How Much Do You Pay for a Haircut?

250,000th poster!
I absolutely hate going to the hairdressers after my favourite Ambiance hairdresser disappeared years ago & a horrific cut & colour at Pelo, & a bad wedding day do by a mobile hairdresser...

...however I bit the bullet not long ago & went to Eclipse in Stafford for one of their cheap £15 Tuesday haircuts....didn't realise at the time that the lady that does the cheap cuts wasn't working that day. . .

I ended up paying £26 - BUT....it was well worth it, the girl was lovely, did a really good cut & gave me some really good advice, I'll defiantly go back & will be happy to pay the same :)

*just a note, I thought a tenner was about reasonable for a dry trim, but nowhere charges that anymore. Avoid Supercuts, last time I went there cut & blow drys were being advertised at £17 - but they charged me £38 as I have long hair! Rip off merchants.

My dad once asked me to trim his hair for him, experience taught me not to disagree....experience has taught him never too ask me again!

I relucantly pay £90 every 6 weeks for a cut and colour.

I used to do the colour myself with a kit from Asda but I got so old that I couldnt see where I was putting the dye.

Thing is ..I cant do my own hair so am paying £90 and it looks nice the day I walk out of the salon and thats it for another 6 weeks.

"Personally the going rate for a gents haircut in Rugeley is £7 whilst it's around £11-12 around Stafford.

I have yet to find a barbers in Stafford than can perform a simple grade 3 back and sides and short on top with any kind of consistency and at £10 roughly I think that's a lot for next to nothing, so I travel to Rugeley and pay just £4 for THE best cut. I don't get how he charges so little as he cut throat razor shaves the back and sides too. A great finishing touch.

I'd like to find similar in Stafford to save me the travel but even with all the hair places here, I don't see that happening any time soon.

Ladies have my sympathies. The drawback to having long hair is the prices charged to have it maintained. :/

£8.00 in Eccy £10.00 if she comes to the house. Still only £10.00 even now I'm in Woodseaves!

I pay on average of about £25 for a wash and cut , I prefer to leave with wet hair because I've yet to find a hairdresser who can blow dry my hair without leaving me with a big sticky up bit at the front lol. I also hate all the styling products I get smothered in

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Think I paid nearly £25 at Francesco Bodmin Avenue for my last cut.

Costs me £6 and that includes a beard trim. Done at the same time as the BH gets her hair coloured & cut, think hers costs about £40. Every 6 weeks by someone who comes to the house.

You could try the chap @ Weeping Cross - https://www.facebook.com/Barbersst17 - 'thorough' is my one word review, he's most definitely thorough.

£10.00 + it is though - it really depends on whether (fuel costs + bother) is (greater than or equal to) £6, or thereabouts.

Worth a whirl if it's £6 (more or less) well spent.

I think it is. I go on a scooter so fuel is pennies, just have to brave the Milford Road (when it's open) but It's a nice ride on a good day.

Will have a look at the guy you recommended though.

Depends, a tenner or so in town or £6.50 on the Marston road. I only get mine trimmed a few times a year though, unless I have a wedding/funeral/job interview. Could do with more of the latter lately.

Slightly off track but just discovered Penkridge has a barber's shop open on a Sunday. Very convenient for husband today.
