Just make sure you keep the receipts - thirty nine quid for a breakfast is OK.

Will the Vicious split the Nasties vote - so far it's a yes

Will the Thickos be able to dump the Arrogant Thicko - so far it's a no

Is everyone else a waste of breath - sigh...

When all the crooks in parliament get locked up for fraud and dishonesty, it will be comforting for them to know that Sir Barry of the Stamp will be there to bail them out and see to their public rehabilitation.

Labour will be back with a vengence soon. Can't f***ing wait :(

I doubt

I can see an even split between the Nasties and the Thickos as far as Parliamentary seats are concerned

The Plan

I propose a complete re organisation of all Parliamentary boundaries to follow lines whereby there are no more safe seats - even if this mean the boundary resembles a spunking cock.

I also propose that no sitting MP or former MP can ever be elected again. Thus ensuring an entirely new set of 650 representatives of Parliament, all in marginal seats

I also propose a salary of £120,000 per annum

Have it

And have to have your main residence in the constituency, which you must reside in when not in London doing your job. HS2 will of course remove the need for London homes for anyone on the route.

I like the idea of one term seat only
£120,000 is way to much make it the average they reckon we all earn for 40hrs actual work and payment into there own pension pot
Minimum requirement to stand as an MP 25 yrs in industry and British born
Recall at any time by the constituents

Pie in the sky but I can dream till they tax it

Keep the House of Commons with directly elected constituency MPs and replace the House of Lords with a proportional representation based Second Chamber.

I wanted to answer each of these points separately but can't work out how to do it, can someone please explain (simply) how It's done?
Sorry if this has already been answered, @Hetairoi, but all you need to do is click the green +Quote button at the bottom of each post that you want to reply to, then when you get to the reply box at the bottom of the page just click the Insert Quotes button at the bottom-left of the box - you can then insert all of the posts that you have clicked on, and even edit them before doing so should you need to. :)

At one term, you might attract those simply in it for selfish reasons ( sounds familiar )

At £120k I would be interested. But the real reason is I think it might attract someone say between 25 and 35 who could command that salary anyway.

Someone who has natural and learned leadership skills. It compares to a very good head teacher salary. I am not particularly keen on teachers as politicians having said that

I would hope for a mix of ages as our political representatives

That may have to be an enforced measure

One constituency in five to be restricted to those between 18 and 39 say.

I don't care where anyone is born.

It has to be about the individual

Some added accountability has to be built in

If someone could only have one term in office what is to stop them trying desperately to make things better for themselves once they leave? They don't have to please anyone anymore as no second term is possible, they can be in it for themselves.
