Never know unless you try!

So I've been popping in here for a little while and watching the tumbleweed drift by in a dating section...

However, you never know unless you try right?

I've been looking for a special woman for a while, but being shy around women it's been hard work. Goodness knows why, I can sit and chat for hours with the right woman, but actually trying to chat up a woman I just get badly flustered and wish the ground would swallow me up!

I'm 31 and work in finance, looking for a woman wanting to settle down and live happily ever after (in an ideal world). I'm funny and a genuinely lovely guy. Not bad looking and I think I can call myself athletic now (as I pump iron 5 times a week).

I won't bore the rest of you incase it's all guys on here! Haha

Tbh I'm also interested in finding some friends (male or female) to meet.

I'm also going to be brave and upload a photo, so if anyone sees me out and about don't be shy to say hi!

Is that the kind of question you ask on a first date Glam?

'Where do you get your teeth done love?'

Maybe I'm out the loop... :P
Nooooo ya daft bat! Or should that be rat?!
He doesn't get teeth like that eating puddings all the time. I was wondering who his dentist was?!

Hahaha. That made me laugh a lot.

No fillings or false teeth, does that get me brownie points as well!? Not that the brownies would help, lol.

If anyone is curious they used to do it at the Hungry Horse near the castle. I'm there quite often. Not seen the desert menu since they changed it all around the other week. I have actually eaten one of these all by myself... But that time it was between 2. :P

Maybe I can find a lovely lady to share one with!

Hi Alec
I really hope that you find your special lady.

I do believe that there is someone for everyone...it just might be a bit harder to find nowadays with everyone stuck inside doing...well doing this...on t'internet and not meeting real people.

My advice for what it's worth.. Is to be do the Internet dating.... But also get out there and meet real people...go to clubs, join things.

To be do?

To be is to do - Socrates
To do is to be - Satre
Do be do be do - Sinatra

I have a novel idea - everyone has a novel inside them do they not - why don't uninterested parties just leave the F alone?

* is also envious of AlecB's teeth *

Being the secret love child of Sir Bamber Gascoigne should be no barrier to love

Accept that she/ he is more likely to live in Normanton/Wordsley/Lickey Hills than in town

Spend some money

Match.com Eharmony MuddyFunsters

As a forum we will be delighted to edit your online dating profile

Pumping iron will not make the final draft

Hi John

I've tried eharmony and match. Both have their own problems (ones that everyone agrees with who have been on them).

Online "dating" is a misnomer really, you date face to face but a lot of people men and women seem happy just to chat online.

I'll have a think about putting my profile up.

What's wrong with pumping iron then? I could say "discreet lifting of appropriate weights"!? Haha

There's a lot of women in Stafford who use online dating.

A friend at work recommends I use tinder, but it's far easier for a woman to find dates imo. Plus I'm not sure its a respectable site.

Obviously I am not expert

At anything

Sorry that the dating sites have yet to produce THE one

Did you not manage a 'face to face'?

Do think you need an image makeover - I know I do. But then I dont have your hair, or any hair come to that.

Teeth envy?

I jest of course, but the Forum does have a mix of female and male members ( ooh matron ) and it would appear you really only want the opinion of the no tails

The reason I suggested we edit your profile is that I have seen a couple of mates attempts - Jeezuzzz . Not saying you fall into any category of course

I think the profile should fit the photographs - discreet lifting of appropriate weights, smart

Not on eharmony, sooo many hoops to jump through just to actually meet someone there it's quite silly really.

Match I met one woman after much time and effort, but just the one date.

Overall I don't really rate online dating sites as a whole, but they are one string to the bow.

Are you thinking I need a main photo in more casual clothes. I'm genuinely curious what sort of makeover i need? Every little helps right. ;)

You don't need a makeover. You are fine just the way you are.
I do believe there is a pot for every lid and if you go off "making over" into something not you then all you are really doing is pretending to be something that you are not.

Someone one day will love you for the way you are, the way you look and the way you think.

I have 2 friends who 10 years ago were both single. One joined clubs, went out, said yes to everything. She is now married.
The other one who happens to be very good looking and is very funny ..but..is a but picky, can't be bothered to go out, won't join anything is still single.

So just get out there and meet as many people as you can. Once you make friends you get invited to things ...at those things may be their friends, their sisters, their neighbours ....all possible future girlfriends for you.

@AlecB

I forgot to tell you about @John Marwood

Some people on here ignore him.
I personally find him too bizarre to ignore but too bonkers to take seriously.

Occasionally one gets the odd moment of clarity from him but these moments are rare.

If he was a member of your family you would probably have put him in a home by now.

Anyway what I mean is ....don't think his comments are a true representation of the forum as a whole.

I would like to know what a true representation of the Forum was considering we have the likes of Het, Bas and the Nail. ....
