Some very exciting news about the Staffordshire Cycle Festival this weekend. The one and only British cycling legend Sir Bradley Wiggins has confirmed he will be racing in the pro race on Friday night.

Details on the event can be found here: http://www.ridestaffs.co.uk

Hopefully this weather holds out!

What with this going on in the town, and Swan Live in our garden, Friday is going to be an amazing night!

A very pleasant evening out. Made all the better by some excellent Lewis Group entrepreneur ship outside the Bear.

I really enjoyed the cycle racing on Friday evening. All of the cyclists provided a great race and were also extremely friendly. The support, food and beer were also all fantastic. As such, a huge well done to all the organisers.

However, a couple of buts....

I was shocked at the time it took the medical staff to attend to one of the badly injured cyclists. The cyclist was laid on the floor for approximately 30 - 35 minutes before the first aid team arrived. In the meantime, he was being looked after (as much as possible) by the PCSO's and members of the public. I'm afraid I would have expected a much quicker response. Another but....some of the marshalls (2 in particular) were clearly not up to the job. On numerous occasions they allowed a large group of spectators to cross in front of the pro-cyclists race. A number of pro-cyclists complained about it during the race, as well as a number of spectators me included.
