First World War aviator who escaped from the German Tsingtao colony in China, after it fell to the Japanese, all the way back to Germany, via the prison camp at Castle Donnington, after being captured in the Mediterranean on the final leg of the return journey across the Pacific, the USA and the Atlantic.

I read a translation of his own account of the adventure many years ago.

They sell the German-influenced Tsingtao beer in Lidl, now and then - very nice with a balti.

Over the last month I have read

I let you go. Totally loved this.

The boy that never was. Loved this as well.

Want you dead by Peter James. I have read all of the Roy Grace books but this was boring and total tosh.

The truth about the Harry Querbert Affair. This has been my favourite book so far this year.

I've read, so far this month -
The Reckoning & The Burning, both by Jane Casey.
The Young Wan, Chisellers, The Granny and The Scrapper, all written by Brendan O'Carroll.
I've been on nights for the last week and read a book a night.

I've enjoyed the book, sad, but I'm defiantly a bit of a cryer!
I'm doing really well Thankyou, stronger every day. It's been an incredible journey. X

Good. Fingers crossed you keep getting stronger, and enjoy your holiday xx

I read Marley & Me when the book came out, blarted my head off towards the end, did the same when I watched the film. Nothing wrong with being a cryer xx

I read 'Birds without Wings by Louis de Berniers (of Captain Correlli's Mandolin fame whilst in Turkey recently and I proper recommend it, particularly if you are going on holiday to greece or Turkey. Not only a great read but gives a really good insight in to the history of the area and how we ame to the Turkish/Greek situation that we find ourselves in today. Wonderful book!
