The Swan Stafford: Brasserie & Restaurant

Had a meal in the Swan today (Sunday).

Postives:
Service was excellent
Food arrived very quickly
It wasn't too busy - guess that's less of a positive for the Swan!!
The food was very edible, meat eaters said their meat was tender.

But,
It isn't cheap is it considering the portions weren't big - all 4 in my party could have eaten more and we're not massive eaters!
My own personal preference would be for more simple food - the mains are all a bit..........well......pretentious:(

Would go again though if I was feeling rich :)
Thanks Kyoto49 glad you enjoyed your lunch, we always do try & put a mix of classic favourites on our menus for those who like as you put it simple food, but I'll have a chat with the restaurant team to ensure we're keeping the correct balance - thanks for the feedback.

Staff in the restaurant will be pleased to hear your perspective of "it wasn't busy" as they did just under 180 meals today LOL :)

Visited the Swan again and must praise their customer service. We arrived mid afternoon Sunday and the restaurant let us eat even though I think it was past closing time. The fish pie was apparantly the best my brother has ever tasted - true story :)

We visited on a busy Saturday night and everything about our experience was first class and great value for money.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Finally found the time to go back to the Swan for breakfast on Thursday.

This time, I'm very pleased to say everything was spot-on. A warm welcome in the the coffee shop, staff were happy and smiley. Our order was taken and coffees brought to our table in next to no-time. Breakfast arrived shortly after, as ordered and was obviously freshly cooked. It was delicious, we both agreed.

Thank goodness for that as I have a few breakfast meetings lined up for December and can now hold them at the Swan with confidence again :)

We had breakfast there Saturday morning. We sat by the bar and heard all sorts of commotion going on. Lots of flapping, people complaining who still hadn't had their breakfast, other people being apologised to, no toast on it's own, only with breakfasts. No white baguettes. Didn't seem to be their morning!

My breakfast came and the bacon was cold - but after I waited so long for it, and other people were still waiting for theirs I decided against sending it back. :(

Apologies that your visit to us on Saturday morning was not up to our usual standard. Whilst we were experiencing issues with the tills throughout the morning resulting in service being slowed down and various complications, there is no excuse for a drop in standards. Rest assured I'll be raising your comments with the team and we will look to address these immediately. Whilst we are never happy to giving cause for complaint, I would like to reassure you the team is committed to constantly improving. Once again, I would like to offer you my apologies and hopefully we will see you again soon.
Kind regards.

Ed Wallbank, Operations Manager.

Top notch service and food for our company meal/booze up last week. An excellent breakfast, once again this morning as well.

No problem, I don't think I've had a bad meal at any of the @TheLewisPartnership gaffs, heck I was at The Moat House Friday afternoon (outside!) enjoying a pie, very nice it was aswell!

Also, I heard a while back you're thinking of opening another place, that right?

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at the Swan last night and it was very reasonably priced. We both had 3 courses and a couple of drinks each for approximately £45. Fantastic value for money. We will be returning again very soon.

All the staff were extremely polite and professional. A credit to the Lewis Partnership. Superb.

One minor thing I noticed last night. The pay and display car parking board states diners and hotel guests will have their parking reimbursed. However, the pay and display meter states in bold and highlighted in yellow that hotel guests and diners should go to reception for a parking permit. Either option is perfectly reasonable, however it did cause a little bit of confusion to begin with.

Thanks! Hope the car park didn't cause too much confusion?!

Gutted, no milk chocolate truffles last night. White chocolate is just not the same. On the upside, Apple and cinnamon virgin mojito was very lovely and the staff...particularly Elliot, were excellent!

We have listened to our customer feedback, and have now included a parking permit within our booking confirmation. Simply leave your email address when booking your table and you will receive your permit via email straight away! Simples :)

@TheLewisPartnership

We went in on Sunday evening and made use of the parking voucher.

I have to say that it was lovely to have a superb meal and then just wander out to the car park.

The staff were lovely as always.

Portions were massive though...no room for pudding. :aboot:

15 of us were in The Swan for a birthday celebration on Saturday night and the consensus was that the food and service were excellent. There were no problems catering for that number, all 15 main courses arriving pretty much together. And two couples had booked to stay the night and were very happy with their rooms etc.

One small thing about making the booking .... Generally it was pretty good, however the details on the car park pass were printed in black on a black background !?!? This was soon fixed with a bit of editing. And it may be better to send them out as a pdf file attached to the email.

Many thanks for the positive feedback on your visit to The Swan - good to hear you all enjoyed your birthday celebration!

With regards the car park pass, we have attempted to add the pass onto our booking confirmations so avoiding the need to wonder in and out of The Swan to get said pass prior to a visit, which as we all know from many forum posts was a contentious issue, this has been working well and has been received well by those who read our confirmation emails.

I do however apologies that we now appear to have a gremlin at work in the system, I have delegated this to someone far more intelligent than myself to fix it

Thanks for the feedback

Chris
