Whilst testing the stability in motion of my newly repaired retro-vision apparatus, I went past here just now and saw that the car-park was fairly full.

I wonder if the effect is noticeable at the Morris Man, etc?

I'm not sure you could tell...

It's a different market - Morris Man is super local, fed by the estates around it - any drive to Marstons is going to be families, work groups etc - I suspect it does good trade from groups visiting the County Showground for things, and I know groups from work have made good use of it already. Also, any one driving back to Stafford from Uttoxeter would see it as a good stopping off point / meeting point.

I've been told it's rubbish, is this correct?
I have been in twice, not impressed by the food. Meat was tough, gravy tasteless, hubby had a Sandwich, bread was very bland. Hungry Horse and Shire Horse much much better.

We tried here Friday and it was really nice. The staff were so friendly. If you sign up to there site you get a free drink too. I had the burger which was lovely and hubby had the carvery, he did say he preferred the hungry horse's carvery though

We went the other Sunday for a carvery.

Apart from their being no cauliflour cheese, it was quite nice.

I like the fact that it is clean and no sticky carpets.

Went there again last week for my mom's birthday (her choice). Could not fault the service, quick, pleasant and great food as well.

Also, a little tip....if you mention that a member of your party is celebrating their birthday, you should get a free drink on the house as a "happy Birthday"

A nice touch I though...

Why am I being told* to Like this pub via FaceBook?

...I was thinking of popping in for a drink and a meal but i'll Like them on FaceBook instead, I'm nice like that.

*by a shitty sign tagged, onto a fence outside the pub!

Bugger!

I've still yet to go in, at all.
It was nice & clean & shiny, but we didn't stay - after asking the bar staff if they did a full English/all day breakfast & getting a 'no, we don't do that sort of thing here', like they were a 5* establishment! We took a menu away with us - same old boring chain pub food as everywhere else - minus breakfast!

Me one.

It's a 10 minute walk from me and It just doesn't have the pull, so far I've drove past to go the Hollybush, Dog & DoubletX3 and The Weston.

This place is very nice inside and has a decent (but small) outside play area. However, for me it has no pull. As stated above it serves the same food you can get in most chain pubs elsewhere in Stafford. To go to this pub, I have to drive past a number of better pubs.

I've been once and I won't be returning.

Just back from a team lunch - perfectly fine, and lots of choice on the 2 for £10 menu (I had pork stakes with a Stilton and Bourbon sauce) - all arrived at the same time, empty plates all round and my mate's carvery (also on the 2 for £10 off) looked very decent indeed.

I believe that's where we're heading for our office Christmas meal.
