Hi,
Me, my husband and our 4 years boy moved in Stafford in august 2015. For now we live in a rented flat in the city center, but in the spring we want to rent a house. I do not know the town so can you tell me where are the best neighborhoods, area? We want to stay in town because I do not drive ... so we want to be close to supermarket and school. Thanks.

castlefields and the new castle view estate (near doxey, but don't let that put you off) are excellent, imo.. they are modern houses, 10 minutes walk to town, but quiet and private enough that you feel like you're living out of town..

houses seem to pop up on castlefields quite often, so have a look on rightmove for that area :)

There aren't any really bad area's in Stafford, some are nicer than others, but a quick drive around will give you a pretty good idea if you like an area or not!

Doxey may have somewhere within your budget if you don't mind mixing with the celebs in the corner shop

Thank you all for the help. I like castlefields. Even if the south area is too far from all the facilities, here are the best schools, so we are in a dilemma...

Wildwood is a good area too, it has a supermarket, lovely park, a decent pub.
A library is near by, chemist, primary schools.

Its not far from Cannock Chase which is a beautiful place to visit.

its a few miles from the town centre so its a bit of a walk but there are plenty of buses that go into town.

Welcome to the forum (and to Stafford). @Adriana

By the way, feel free to ignore the very bonkers @John Marwood .....most people do!

hello and welcome, i will second Wildwood, Baswich is also a nice area. Wildwood and Baswich has the best schools in the area, that's why me and my wife are currently moving from st16 to the wildwood area.

Oh god yeah, given the choice Wildwood, Walton, Baswich, etc. are your best areas when it comes to schools & families, but I suggested Castlefields based on your request to be in town / close to the station.

If your primary criteria is schools, seriously look at ST17 :)
