Yes, you know who you are @proactive and other horrid miserable opinionated forumites, so dont start giving me that huggy emoji thing, like you think it's all right now.

I was so emotionally scarred by all the negative comments that I totally flounced off the forum and couldnt actually function or even post anything for at least a whole hour and a half.

Wildwood is a good area too, it has a supermarket, lovely park, a decent pub.
A library is near by, chemist, primary schools.

Its not far from Cannock Chase which is a beautiful place to visit.

its a few miles from the town centre so its a bit of a walk but there are plenty of buses that go into town.

Welcome to the forum (and to Stafford). @Adriana

By the way, feel free to ignore the very bonkers @John Marwood .....most people do!

Thanks Carole!

There is a southern bias here I think :). Anyone would think only Wildwood has a library, shops, Doctors and good schools :(. The reality is that the north end is equally well served we just don't have the insufferable traffic of the south end! We also have far superior open spaces, The Common and Doxey Marshes nature reserve both accessible on foot. Cresswell Farm & Poultney Drive areas are recommended

Back to the default position of 'there isn't really a bad bit of Stafford to live in'

Thanks Carole!

You are very welcome. @Adriana

As you can see from the replies (apart from the tendency to go off track.....;)) people on here are very helpful but everyone has different ideas of what they consider a "good area", which was your original question .

Only you know what is best for you so take some time out to visit the areas/estates mentioned and see if you can get a feel for the place.

I agree with @kyoto49 that Cresswell Farm and Poultney Drive are very nice and you can easily walk to town. Same with @db who recommended Castlefields.

Let us know how you get on!

if you're interested in local crimemap then visit police.co.uk and put in the post code, you can then zoom in and check on the type of crimes committed in the area.

I wonder how many towns have a still-active forum such as this, upon which to make positive comments about different areas within it?

It is difficult to see how something such as Facebook, ironically the destroyer of interconnectivity, could be used to satisfactorily answer the question posed - they'd probably end up listening exclusively to the half-arsed mutterings of the People's Front For Stafford, rather than appreciating the more intelligent contributions of the Stafford People's Front.
