The fact that Richard Brinsley Sheridan was MP for Stafford in 1780 was the answer to a question on Eggheads yesterday

Humphrey Stafford (1402-1460)
Henry Stafford (1455-1483)
& Edward Stafford (1478-1521)

were all pretty big cheeses in their day.

Edit: After further research i may have to exclude both Henry and Edward. Though undeniably from the de Stafford line there is no documentary evidence that they ever even visited Stafford.

re earlier posts,i have yet to find any evidence of a lineage to tek-monkey either.

Harriet Mellon was seen treading the boards (in Martin Street, the then theatre district) of Stafford by Sheridan in the late 1700's and on his advice moved to London and on to quite an extraordinary rise in fortunes.

Dr.Fowler was originally from Glasgow, contrary to Wikipedia entry [citation needed], but lived in the High House at the time of the creation of his Arsenic based solution (which may well have been a final solution for some) which was prescribed worldwide until the 1960's.

As well as having a general medical practise in the town he was also [citation may also be needed] the doctor to inmates of the town gaol and local coroner.

I walked past Neil Morrissey filming something in stafford the other day, he's very tall and handsome and well dressed. Was star struck!

defo lightning.. her real name is kim, and you will see a gold car with "KIM" on the number plate round that area from time to time..

note: not a stalker, i just used to live round the corner lol..
