Word has it the current proprietors of the Greyhound at Yarlet are closing at the beginning of November.
Rumour is it may be taken over by a local hospitality company who already has venues named after animals/birds.

Wasn't there also a rumour that the same hospitality company were taking over another animal related named pub in Bradley?

Under new management and run by the same people who run the Dog &Partridge at Lower Tean - we went in there on Monday night, not knowing they had only reopened last Friday. We (3 of us) had decent meals and thought it was well worth popping back again to try something different. 2 of us had the 20oz mixed grill at 11.95 and the third meal was ham, egg and chips at 7.95. It appears they use the same quite extensive menu at both pubs, coming under the name "2 Fat Fellows @" ... Greyhound or The Dog & Partridge. The grill came on a large platter type tray, probably as there were no plates big enough!
At the prices they are knocking meals out at, the place is well worth a visit.

l wish them well of course

But when I see the words extensive menu I see a man leaning over a giant chest freezer getting ratty...

Just read in the weekly freebee "excess and slur" paper that the Greyhound at Yarlet are doing a weekday servery for £4.95pp.

What's a servery?
