I hear The Tavern and the RBS have been brought by developers who work in restaurants so it looks like there's be even more choice in chain restaurants soon.
I assume RBS would be moving elsewhere.
I spoke to Gertie McHurdie in the RBS the other day. She says that they own the building and are not going anywhere. However, SBC are making amendments to their building at the rear of RBS. They've already dug up the car park and this link says what they're planning on doing. http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/stafford-renewed-civic-centre

I've not been in a cinema this century - only been in the Odeon twice, around 1995ish - all my other (8 or 10?) films since 1974 have been in the Picture House.

Neither have I cannot sit that long, find I can never follow the plots or hear what the actors are saying.

Love this picture...

... wtf?

The bit in the foreground is presumably that closest to the new development - ie the bit with the 'mezzanine' car park - and if it is, then the rest of the Civic Centre seems to have magically made a 90° turn. At least three of the people above would actually be in the Sow. I particularly like how the artist has, presciently, made part of the frontage look like it is a failed business, already boarded up with plywood.

I remember on previous imaginations of the new build behind, that SIGN are due to have a heavy presence there - they're going to get the heebie-jeebies knowing that SIGNAGE are opening so close.

This image is of the rear of the council offices. This area is currently the service yard area.

The image has been taken from SCC looking across the road.

In all my years of going to Stafford cinemas, especially with the niece and nephew I have to say I have never encountered the smell of urine, oddly not even in the toilets- never ever.

Stafford is an ok cinema experience and its rustic charm will be lost and it is always well kept.

sticky floors are far worse at the now almost dilapidated Odeon Featival Park, the place is just nasty. Walsall showcase, left last time I went because some were just smoking weed and prior to that a filled nappy had been left on the seat and not when taking the kids to see Inside Out.

Vue is decent, not been new one in Hanley yet but I understand a number of the screens are quite small.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk

That part would be the car park underneath the building. I am guessing that it will still be there after the revamp - mainly for local councillors to park when attending meetings. After all, they can't be expected to walk a short distance like normal people...

I also love that this picture includes a Miller Sandy 'for Sale/ To Let sign) - that screams confidence

So I'm assuming here for the new bar / restaurant - wonder if the 'art' will remain.

Is there any news / rumors on what's going into what was Central Appliances?

Sales particulars released today on the Riverside development. A couple of extracts

Anchored by M&S, Primark and H&M. Contracts are also exchanged with Outfit, JD, River Island, New Look, Costa and Vison Express. In addition to this the leisure element of the development will consist of 5 new restaurant units and will be anchored by a leading cinema (18,000 sq ft – under offer). As part of the development, a 1,200 space multi storey car park has been erected.

Restaurants - Nandos, Prezzo, Coal and Chiquotos.

The development is close to full occupancy upon scheduled opening with the exception of unit 2b, 4 and 5 which can accommodate retailer requirements of 1,000 sq ft, 3,000 sq ft and 5,700 sq ft respectively.

Out of curiosity, where did you acquire this info? I was hoping for some confirmation that we're definitely getting a Nandos as I'm a big fan/sad act
