What book are we reading at the moment?

We have it on our Kobo's (like a Kindle) We have no more space for more books but this way it's no problem. I'm looking forward to my Christmas present, I know that I have been bought Disorder in the Courts :)

i haven't read anything by dean koontz in, christ, it must be 20 years now :eek: used to devour his books as a lad..

i recently stumbled across a film called Odd Thomas.. knew nothing about it, and ended up loving it.. couldn't believe it when the credits rolled and it said it was based on a dean koontz novel! when further googling revealed that it was a series of novels, i got my hopes up for a load more films - but apparently Odd Thomas was a box office flop and there were some legal troubles, all of which means there will probably never be any more.. such a shame, because i thought the film was great..

is it a series worth reading, then?

someone bought me Doughnut for my birthday this year, which i absolutely loved.. i had never heard of Tom Holt before, but now i am reading his first novel - Expecting Someone Taller - which is a bit rough around the edges but a fun, silly jape all the same.. i'm planning on reading his entire back catalogue in chronological order, but it's quite the task so we'll see how i get on..

Just finished 'Carrie'. Great read.

Now on 'Haunted' by Chuck Palahniuk.... heard that the good reviews and the bad reviews all say the same thing, ie "it's disgusting". I'm barely 30 pages in and it's already made me incredibly uncomfortable!

Malice Aforethought by Francis Iles. I bought it in 1979 after watching the televised version with Hywel Bennett and Judy Parfitt. Have read it several times and never tire of it ... brilliantly written.

Having just finished binge watching Shetland. I've just about finished binge reading Peter May's Lewis Trilogy set in the Outer Hebrides. Very similar just a shade darker with a Detective returning back to his roots. Swap Shetland for the Isle of Lewis and Glasgow for Edinburgh and you'd think they had been written by the same author.

Binge-read on holiday, mostly chick-lit but managed a Michael Connelly and Anne Tyler as well.

Cheers saw it a couple of months ago. Best part is when they move out of the central belt and leave the bag pipes behind.

Lucky enough to have had a few holidays already this year and adore quick "easy reads".

Started reading Jeffrey Archer "The Clifton Cronicles". Read two so far and have already got number 3 to read. Don't care for the man but boy can he draw you in and tell a tale.

Found a book by Robert Goddard (Fault Line) which I enjoyed and will look out for more by this author.

Just read over the last week or so ...
Paula Daly ...."just what kind of mother are you"
Great, loved it.

But the best book is "Behind Closed Doors" by B A Paris.
Don't start reading this book if you have jobs to do because from page one you can't put the book down
Best book for me this year so far. (As in "a great page turner" not saying it will win literary awards)
My friend is reading it too and it is keeping her up at 4 in the morning.
Without a shadow of a doubt this will be made into a film.

My current book is "Black Eyed Susans"
I am 100 Pages in and it is "just ok" so far but it has great reviews so hopefully it will get better

I have a shelf full of Robert Goddard's should you ever want to borrow any @Carole.

I've joined the village book club and am reading this month's book of choice, The Road to Little Dribbling By Bill Bryson. Enjoying it so far. Before that I read a Donna Leon, not read any before but I enjoyed it.
