Would like to mention how fab this place is now, the cellar restaurant is really nice, the food is great and not overpriced. the bar area is really cosy with comfy chairs and sofas and on a cold night the roaring log fire is a real welcome, though when we went the fireman were attending to a chimney fire, but watching them climb up the chimney and fetch out buckets of glowing cinders, didn't spoil the evening and the meal, it just added to our conversation, thankfully it wasn't so bad that we had to vacate the place, which is just as well because there was no way I was missing my juicy steak and those big fat homemade chips!

Like The Bell at Haughton, Weston is an acceptable trip to the countryside for local people. Four miles, one road, no nose bleed

I went Saturday afternoon and what a treat!

It's really nice inside (The cellar), it has that modern and classic and all that's in-between feel, all done to perfection and doesn't take away from the fact it's an ex-stately home.

I'd definitely recommend an afternoon there.

Again, and to another Stafford gem, i have to say - faultless!

Well done to all involved.

Just returned from my 40th birthday meal at Weston Hall and cannot recommend this beautiful place highly enough. Our meals were lovely, reasonably priced and excellent quality. But what I really liked was the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff. It's such a treat to go somewhere the staff actually want to be working.

Well done Weston Hall....keep up the good work...we shall be back!! :stafford:

I like to sing praises where due and following a wonderful meal at Weston Hall last night they deserve it. The food was top notch, the beer well kept, service attentive and a very good atmosphere and buzz in there. Getting a taxi home around midnight was a bit of an experience so book in advance if there on a Saturday night. Taxi that did come had smoke coming from under the bonnet and dashboard lit like a Christmas tree. Short night for him and a worrying trip home for us, just about. Bill came to just under £150 for 4 of us for 3 courses each a bottle of decent wine and my head tell me more beer than I should of had! So excellent. Oh, and we were graced with Monsieur Reynolds in the restaurant too so must be ok.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday. Not bad but nowhere near as good as it used to be. Which now makes it overpriced in my book. They've also painted all that lovely oak panelling green. Sacrilege.

Has anybody eaten here recently?

Yes Sunday lunch became very good however on last visit couple weeks ago portion sizes have dropped they use smaller oblong plates and are less generous with the meat although the quality is still very good you get less for your money. Normal menu I think is still the same size.

Had a disappointing meal here last weekend. The surroundings are stunning but I thought out meal was quite poor. I hold a lot of love for the place and left feeling sadly disappointed.

I got taken to Weston Hall for lunch today.

I wasn't paying, but I was surprised just how non-exorbitant the prices were.

The staff were very competent and organised, though the (now disposable?) menus didn't arrive fast enough for everybody, but that was not any issue from my own perspective.

The food was OK and from quite a varied selection.

The outside areas are very nicely kept.

We were in The Cellar, which is quite a 'hard' environment, acoustically. There was a family with three young children, but they were no bother at all - however, a few groups of "ladies who lunch" were loud enough to make conversation at our table almost impossible. Not really Weston Hall's problem, more one for 'society' in general, unfortunately.
