Just been, most of the food looks pretty good and some keen prices too on the majority. Shame none of the gammon was smoked or I'd have had some, grabbed some sausages though (tomato and some smoked pork and bean flavour). Also got a pack with a small chicken and a bone in pork joint for £6. On the frozen side I got some chicken curry mini kievs, southern fried chicken pieces and some nacho fish things. They have 800g bags of sweet potato fries in for £2.50, I go through loads of them!

Reminds me a lot of butchers of old, where you could get various flavoured animal pieces for your enjoyment. Lived on that sort of stuff when I was in Southampton, was all I could afford! Noticed various steaks/chops/drumsticks etc. in said flavourings, was very tempted by the half chickens. 2 in a pack, 2 packs for £6, so £3 a chicken. Obviously with all this sort of stuff the proof will be in the eating, so I'll see what they're like.

The chicken was good, quite a lot of meat for a fairly small bird. The pork was a bit on the tough side but I think we cooked it wrong, as they were packaged together they didn't have individual weights and we didn't check it first, will pay more attention next time. Certainly nothing wrong with it otherwise, but I've had tenderer joints. Also my OHs son had some tomato sausages, really liked them.

We dropped in this morning for the first time. Impressed with the place and got an extra 10% off for signing up to their loyalty card.

If you are happy to buy in bulk (and bag up to freeze) you can save a fortune.

Will report back on the quality of the stuff once consumed!

It's the old lighting store at the back of FMS.
I tried a few bits not long after it opened. A fair sized pork pie for £1.15, I thought I'd risk it and was surprised at the quality. A peppered steak was also decent and I also got a big bottle of hot garlic and chilli sauce, like they use in chippies, for £1. It's worth a look! Just a shame there isn't a top notch website to promote it all.

Just thought I'd drop this here that Whitehouse foods have 50% off ALL frozen food today. We picked up shed loads of frozen chicken breasts, veg etc.

The goat was full of bones, which apparently is normal for goat but not what I expect when I buy diced meat :(
Still, it's been cleaned and is now marinading. Making a habenaro chilli goat.

Are you going to have it with coleslaw? Meant to take some of the tang away.
