Amazing difference, all we can manage is lightest of flurries! tomorrow looks wet, winters and snow are a thing of the past away from Staffs moors/peaks etc, TMW it's called, RIP winters upto 1999 ish

Turned to rainy, sleety stuff but just got back from dog walking and it's snowing proper again.

'Proper' big flakes & sticking here in Woodseaves this morning.

Yes was good for nowadays, typical snow 'event' though of the modern era, we have -8 850 hpa temps, easterly wind and low temps, in the 90's and earlier it would be miles colder

Snow covering here this morning but its mostly gone now, temp up to 3.5c from 2.0c earlier.

That is typical of 2000+ especially in February, the month that's changed the most in the modern era, used to guarantee decent snow in Feb, next week from Wed we will see 11°

Not around in '82, when it was down below -20 C here*?

-26 C in Edgemond, just over by Newport.

I remember it but was over Lichfield way at the time, think we avoided the very coldest temps although I had no thermometer outside back then. I had not long past my driving test and remember driving my brother back up to Sheffield uni, the A 38 dual carriageway had one lane open and two foot of snow in lane two. Lane one was two ruts in the ice same width as the truck wheels. On the way back my throttle cable froze which helped keep me warm. Luckily there were no other silly sods on the road.
