No it didn't. Be careful what you say to @Admin now Littleme. He/she/it has us at his/her/its mercy!!!

Thank you for the being so non-gender-specific. How very progressive of you. ;)

I identify as unicornkin.

I noticed today that the email address I have registered here for notifications is one that I no longer use.

How do I go about changing the email address? I've noticed that it says I can't do this without a password (I sign in using Facebook), & offers to send me a password - but surely this will go to the old email account that I no longer use?

Help!
I'll just delete your profile and ban your IP; problem solved. :teef:

You may have just stumbled upon a flaw in the system. If it won't allow you to update your email address, just send me a PM and I can update it for you. :)

Further to the anonymity thread posted in General Chat:

If anyone wants me to change their username, for whatever reason, please message me and let me know. You can send a private message by clicking my avatar/username and then clicking Start a Conversation.

Bear in mind some basic Internet common sense when choosing:

· Choose a username that does not identify you to strangers
· Only refer to other users by their username, not by real names or nicknames
· Think twice before revealing personal info. about yourself, and certainly do not reveal info. about others without their express permission

The single most obvious rule, i suppose, is this: Everything you post on this Forum can be read by any one of the >1 billion Internet users around the world. Do not post anything you wouldn't want any of them to see! :ninja:

I know that seems like stating the obvious, but for some people here this is their first experience of an Internet forum so let's all try and make it as easy as possible for them. :)

Your friendly Forum Governator.

He/she/it can 'hide' old posts. @Gramaisc will be along in a minute to remind us of the actual wording, but as I remember, our lovely @Admin doesn't delete posts, because you never know when they may be needed. Or words to that effect.

I feel sure that Admin will attend to the matter shortly.

Nothing is ever 'deleted' totally, even removed posts are available for retrieval for the rest of time, they are just not visible to mortal Forumites..

Can I please change my Password Admin, to something I can remember? Thanks.
If you know your current password, then you should be able to change it via your profile page, I think.

If you've forgotten your current pass word, there should be an "I've forgotten my password" button when you try to log back on - this should send an email to the address that you registered on here with, giving you a 'temporary' password, from which you can follow the system above..

I believe that that is what happens.

Why has no action been taken regarding the personally abusive, offensive and inappropriate post about which I complained two days ago?
I look forward to your response and details of the sanctions to be imposed on the perpetrator.

Perhaps it's because the abuse that you are complaining about is but a fraction of the derogatory, offensive , abusive, nasty, personal remarks that you have inflicted on other forum members since you joined.

You can't cope when the boot is on the other foot can you?

Don't dish it out if you are not prepared to take it back.

Dude, i have to hold my hands up and admit to inappropriate language apropos the 'Half Marathon' thread. If this got your goat then i hereby heartily apologise for it.

I could have phrased it better, but the sentiment remains the same.

I am still waiting, after FOUR DAYS, for a written response to my complaint. Please take this as formal notice that I require a response within 48 hours of this message or I will pursue the matter through my solicitor.

Totally inadequate response. 'Apology' not accepted.

You aren't serious? This is just a chat programme, where people can be annoymous and say whatever they want.

No people cannot say 'what they want'. The law is quite specific in that the rules in regard to what can be said to and about an individual online are the same as those in the physical world. Proactive's verbal abuse and bullying of me in the specific post which I reported, and also on previous occasions, is unacceptable to me and illegal in the eyes of the law.

May I ask on which grounds do you believe it illegal?
Internet law has very specific requirements for it to be illegal, and your anonymity means you aren't circumspect to most of them.

Well, I find myself in an awkward position now, @HopesDad. I did reply to this, on Friday after I edited the post that you reported, but it seems my reply has disappeared! I know, I know - that sounds like a "likely story" (and if someone said it to me I would not believe it), but I know it to be the truth. I can even remember exactly what I replied:

Admin is absolutely sure that on Friday he said:
Why has no action been taken regarding the personally abusive, offensive and inappropriate post about which I complained two days ago?
I look forward to your response and details of the sanctions to be imposed on the perpetrator.

Sorry for the delay. I don't have as much time as I would like to dedicate to Forum activities these days.

I have edited the post to remove the unnecessarily coarse profanity.

Perhaps it's because the abuse that you are complaining about is but a fraction of the derogatory, offensive , abusive, nasty, personal remarks that you have inflicted on other forum members since you joined.

Whilst I can understand the sentiment, I want to make it clear that this is not the reason for the delay. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that.

The only "evidence" I have of this phantom post is that if you look at the post you reported (which you can find here), you can see it quite clearly shows that I edited it on Friday 17/03/2017 at 11:24. In addition I removed 4 posts, as they were in reference to the profanity and so were no longer relevant.

However, if I had have simply come on today and reposted my reply, you would think it was in response to your ridiculous "threat", and I want you to understand that that is absolutely not the case.

No people cannot say 'what they want'.

Correct, which is exactly why I edit posts and take other action (including the complete removal of members, where necessary) on a daily basis. Sometimes this is in response to reports filed by members, but often it is proactively as a result of vigilant monitoring by the moderating team.

Insulting people is not against the law, however. It's not very nice, and I would certainly discourage it, but it is not against the law to have a negative opinion of someone and to make that opinion known.

It is worth noting that The Forum has stricter rules than simply the letter of the law, hence the post moderation that I mention above.

I've also been subject to Proactive's abuse and it's not very nice. On the odd occasion I've read the forum without being logged in I have seen both Proactive and Carole slagging me off together, like playground bullies. Personally I wish they would both get a life and that Admin would reprimand those who just say unkind things just for the sake of it :(

Oh for crying out loud @kyoto49

You are one of the rudest people on here and can be incredibly nasty and bad tempered when others don't agree with you.

I may have a different opinion to you on many issues but I have never used the f word...unlike yourself that has to resort to swearing to get your point across.

Only a few weeks ago you replied to me by swearing which I personally find abusive and unnecessary.

Not that I care two hoots what you think of me.
