My gut feeling is that he's a lovely man with some very very thoughtful and caring policies but I'm not sure some of his ideas would stand the test of being government policy. Everything in this country is based on profit and money, so greedy capitalists will always vote for what is best for them to make money from. Corbyn's form of socialism seems rather idealistic, however much I'd love to see a return to a time when people cared about society in general even if it means a little less in their pockets, I just can;t see it happening
Oh boy, I can't wait for our constituency to yet again vote in favour of the party that will systematically dismantle the department behind the thing they complain doesn't get enough support - Stafford Hospital.

Twelve months ago I'd have agreed with you, and we'd be seeing his photo alongside quotes about the IRA, Hezbollah and Hamas ..... but he's so far behind in the polls without any great pressure from the MSM, I'm not sure they'll bother. If you believe then vote, if you don't vote because others don't believe then you prove them right. I can promise you that there will be a media shitstorm about Corbyn, he'll be vilified for even having a late credit card payment ion the 80s, but the more the media turn on him the more obvious it becomes that it is for their own interests. The media is about profit, the last thing they want is someone that prefers people. I think this is why I like Corbyn so much, everyon takes so much effort attacking him that they must be worried about something. If they weren't why bother, he'll just lose and resign?
Before the budget, it hadn't occurred to her she might be hamstrung by the last manifesto. Now the penny has dropped, she's realised she's going to have to write her own, especially as she now has to budget for Brexit (which wasn't seen as an issue when the last manifesto was put together).Which facts changed?

UPricK?@HopesDad should create a party (I wonder what he'd call it?) and stand for election.
Coffee spit over smartphone momentUPricK?
Any idea if Labour or Libdems actually have local candidates yet?Look, in all of this (and every general election really) we all would do well to remember that the only person we actually vote for is our local MP. It angers me to see LeFroy win because people are 'voting Tory' when he's a useless yes man who has done nothing for this town, while David Kidney lost his seat, despite being an excellent local representative, because people can't separate national hysteria from actual influence.
The only people voting for or against Corbyn are in Islington. The only people voting for or against May are in Maidenhead.
Please don't just vote down blind party lines. Take a look at what your local candidates stand for. Take a look at actual manifestos instead of press headlines. This is not a 'Brexit' general election. This is not a referendum. This is First Past The Post and it sucks but it's what we've got.

That's precisely the problem. Lefroy's been in the job and is a known quantity (yes i know) and any opposition will only have a very short space of time to get established, making the prospect of mounting a strong challenge even more difficult. Its only been six hours!

Sadly for us, the hospital is a battle that was lost way back in the Blair/Brown days. May's just putting the final nail in the coffin, nothing more.Actually voting Lefroy is voting for May, because he does whatever he is told. I agree though the only chance we have, and certainly our hospital has, is someone that cares enough about Stafford to stand up for us.
