Car boot sales in Stafford.

The boot sale struggles valiantly on - nothing for me today, other than a chance meeting with @Ecker, which resulted in the transfer of a rather nice tripod.

The carrying handle is a nice feature - as is the potential to hang a steadying weight.

I may export this one to the remaining EU and thus avoid taking (or forgetting) one on each trip.

Rather a cool wind this morning and little of great interest to me. There was a good selection of gas bottles and associated equipment.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Smaller still, I bought a flash gun for £2, only took me about 20
min to walk round even with the one with the wonky leg with me.

It was fairly tattish and on the verge of drizzle - a quick whizz round revealed that the only thing of great interest was the chap who had managed to bring quite a fair selection of offerings without using a vehicle of any kind. Quite impressive.

On the back field, due to the circus.

Lots of tables with lots of stuff, but little of interest to me.

Special featured offerings today seemed to be small storage cabinets, of various sizes in this sort of form.

This is going to sound very stupid, but do they still have beautiful wild animals, held captive for the publics amusement in circus'?
Or, is it all acrobatic stuff and singing n dancing?
Never been 1 in my life, I know I would literally have a heart attack due to the clowns.

From the pictures* - https://www.facebook.com/MrFipsWonderCircus/ - it does seem to be essentially human-based, though there is the odd horse.

* May contain clowns.

I'll pass on lookin then, the only clown I can really look at, is Pennywise from IT. And that's only because I know it's the delectable Tim Curry dressed up.

They definitely have multiple horses, some quite big from what I saw this morning. The lives of these poor creatures seems to be restricted to the lorry when they are travelling, the stall they are kept in wherever the circus has stopped, these have no natural light, and the circus ring while they are training/performing. None of this has any place in the 21st century imo.

They always used to 'park' the elephants at the bottom of my garden, they were 'secured' by a circle of tent pegs & some plastic tape about a foot off the ground. ...

I'll still pass, personally speaking, a circus belongs in the dark ages along with bear baiting and fox hunting. And, Clowns are just sooooo wrong!!

I took a short cut across there years ago, in the fog - luckily, I had noticed the circus arriving as I went up Stone Road in the morning.

Otherwise, after the odd cow and horse had loomed up out of the fog, I might have been even more surprised to find myself being investigated by two camels - they are really quite big when they're standing next to you...

I thought it was massive but rubbish. Didn't buy a thing. Really disappointing. I always find it amusing when you see loads of the same thing. A couple of years ago there were foot spas on nearly every table. These days I've started noticing nearly everyone with a clothing rail has a couple of old bras hung on the end haha
