She now says the EU statements are deliberately timed to interfere with the election process, surely calling an election 3 weeks after signing article 50 was the problem!

Exactly

Labour candidate is David Williams. Not the tory councillor but some other fella. Unsure if he is from the county or ballooned in.

Air dropped in I believe (given they have invited local members to come and meet him)... and, naturally in that same vein, Labour has likely again lost my definite vote. :stafford:

I .... genuinely struggle to vote for candidates who have no meaningful experience within their constituency.

I've just googled the guy and he does seem to have some vague local experience. He stood for Nantwich and Crewe in 2010 and was long listed for the Stoke by election.
Actual opinions are thin on the ground though.

I didn't care this time, just anyone but a tory. Labour looked like second place so voted for them, would even have voted for the criminal if I thought he was a better bet.

County Council elections I've just voted for the only candidate who actually lived in the village rather than some miles away. Fortunately he wasn't the Tory candidate.

I think it is clear that Labour have to make changes quick otherwise it will be a whitewash at the General Election.

A strong opposition is needed whoever is in government.
