Drones

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Thinking of buying myself a drone with a HD camera. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations?

And by thoughts, I mean thoughts about drones and not anything else... yes I'm looking at you Mr Marwood.

DJI Mavic Pro.

The flymore pack comes with everything you need , folds up and fits into a small manbag type bag . Shoots at 4K and below. so good in fact ive just purchased one myself.

Also , DJI have just released the SPARK.
This is more of a selfie drone , even smaller than the mavic but mainly used for vlogging type videos.
Still HD.
Mavic is priced at£1350 , Spark is around £600.

Didn't really want to spend that sort of money but they both look great piece of kit.

To be honest , anything less would mean buying second hand.
Phantom 3 advanced or pro or Typhoon H are good choices as they have lost value since the release of the Mavic.
Both great drones that again shoot at 4K and below , just ask whoever you buy from for a test flight , they will oblige and show you that its working if theres no problem with it.

let me know how you get on :)

Enjoying a drop of red.
I have a DJI Magic Pro which was just over £900 plus VAT. Use it for work mainly where we need really detailed images. Great piece of kit, really stable and easy to fly.

OH has just upgraded have Phantom 3 to a Mavic Pro, and spent all day flying it in The Lake District. The Phantom will be going on eBay soon...

After a little research, I have to agree that spending less would mean buying second hand. There is nothing wrong with that but I would prefer new so it looks like I may be getting a DJI Spark. Just need more money before buying.

The second hand one I will have available has probably only been used ten times...

Which model and do you have an idea of price please? (assuming nobody else interested)

@Jonah I've also been looking at the DJI Spark which looks great fun to fly with hand gestures although I do enjoy nightime sky flights for pure enjoyment (non photography purposes) and I don't see the spark being as well suited although I could be wrong. My first ever drone was the Phantom FC40 - terrible for photography but the best flying experience I've ever had. It moved rapidly in all directions and "handbrake turned" beautifully. It always drew a crowd. The Phantom 2 Vision + was my last drone which flew lovely and was great for photo and video, although it lacked some speed for fun flying - mainly because it had been deliberatly tamed down to make video smoother.

I'd love another - but cashflow is tight this year :(

Phantom 3. I think OH is hoping for at least £350, having just bought a Mavic.

Ah no worries then, already seen some as low as 300. If that's as cheap as I'll get one then I might just hold out on the Spark and wait till there are some real user reviews to check out.
Unfortunately I have to agree with Jonah on the "might as well buy new" approach. To buy second hand I'd at least want to save 50% as I would have no rights under a warranty. Nothing personal though, of course.

If anyone on here buys a DJI Spark, I'll happily bung you a tenner or buy you lunch to see it in action ;)
