First flight today. Quick 3 minute test in the back garden and then a full battery worth of flying this afternoon. Bloody great fun, going to love the ability to take video and photos but just flying it is great.

baby steps first , although its temping dont click over to sports mode until you learn to handle it .. takes a lot more stopping distance in sports mode.
tripod mode is great to learn on. as the name suggests , slow and subtle but perfect for those panning shots.

There is no way I'm using sport mode yet. It is fast enough as it is.

Not tried the modes yet, want to learn to fly it better first.

i can point you in the right direction for a couple of things you will find helpful .

1. a charger that will do all 3 batteries at the same time not one by one
2. leg extenders because of the mavics low stance it can get caught in grass.
3. a flight mat ( can be used instead of the leg extensions.
4. Mavic camera ND filters. ( very useful in bright light to bring your shutter speed right down when shooting video )

shout me via pm if you need assistance with anything or require links to the above items.

Landing pad has been bought along with a carry case.

I have looked for a charger which charges multiple batteries simultaneously but can't find one. DJI only sell the two hubs which charge consecutively.

@perry081064 @wmrcomputers What phone do you/did you use to fly your drone?

I'm using my iPhone 6s Plus which works well but I'm thinking of buying a cheap Android phone with a 6" screen to use instead.

A word of warning , some Android phones and tablets will work ... however a lot of people have issues with the DJI Go 4 app constantly crashing.
For this very reason i will only use my Apple Ipad Mini 2 , nice large screen and will fit into the grab rails on the controller but you will need to use the lower USB and push out the rectangle clip from the grab rail near the usb port.
Dont get the Ipad mini 1 though, its not powerful enough but the 2,3 and 4 are and can be picked up second hand pretty cheap.

Should you go down the tablet route , i recommend getting the tablet mount from these guys http://www.mavmount.com/ , A bit pricey and have to be shipped from the USA but much better than the plastic crap and you would also be able to use a sunhood to reduce glare in bright conditions.

The cables supplied by DJI are a bit pants as well so try to get yourself a decent apple/android leads from Amazon.

let me know what you decide to go with :)

heres a pic of how mine is setup...

My first phone-drone combination was a Phantom FC40 with a decent Sony Experia android phone - it was laggy as hell despite being a bloody good phone. I borrowed my wife's iPhone 4s (top of the range at the time) and it worked flawlessly. Since then I've had Phantom 2 vision + with iPhone 5c, and Phantom 3 on an iPhone 5s. I've never gone back to Android since but that's more because I've become an iPhone man and now hate the Android system. Just a personal preference.
