great shots :D

...Be careful if that tower is in use , it can mess with your GPS and you dont want to be flying without that if you can help it ;).
I wouldn't mind visiting that part of the chase , but im new round these parts so if you could pinpoint that area on google maps for me ill try and take a run over myself one day

The tower was over a mile away from where I was.

The area is near the Commonwealth War Cemetery just off Camp Road. Plenty of space and not too busy. I park in a little layby about where the red x is.

You are being to modest , that was a great video and well transitioned.

I did notice a white glare banding in some parts of the video , was the clear gimble cover still attached ? ... you should remove that as it will produce those white streaks but more importantly the craft cannot get cool air to the fins behind the gimble.

if you need any settings to help slow down the gimble pitch etc , let me know and ill send you the settings i use.

Its great that you used full 4K , but try shooting at 2.7 , its less stress when trying to edit and the file size is a lot smaller but the quality is just as good.
One last thing , if that was shot without a filter , thats bloody amazing work.

ive subscribed to your channel and looking forward to more mate.

Transitions courtesy of iMovie. First time I have used it and it was fairly simple as there are lots of options available.
Gimbal cover was off as per DJI instructions.
I imagine the white streaks would have been lens flare.
All filmed without any filters.

I will have to delve into the settings a bit more as I didn't realise you could adjust the gimbal pitch etc.

got mine set at :

gimbal start / stop buffer 20
pitch speed 11

also ive backed my yaw limit back to 50.

I still need to tweak it a little more though.

(look on youtube for mavic gimble settings and mavic yaw settings.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D-cinelike ( saves too much post processing in editor ) or go raw if want full control .

sharpness 1
contrast -1
saturation - 1

That seems to be ok for my mavic , but yours may be different and its all down to what your personal tastes are.

I have read today that the white streaking may be a product of the propellors and the sun.

great shots @Jonah

I enquired about filming the castle last year but they wouldn't permit it without i had my liability insurance ( got that now though ) and licence. they also needed a risk assessment .
even then , it was doubtful to be passed so i didnt bother.

Since then i learned as long as you take off and land out of the grounds , there isnt a lot they can do about it providing you are being responsible and keeping a safe distance.

Brilliant

loved the "reveal" shot at the start where you rise close from the castle and show the Stafford skyline .
.... also , the closing shot of the walkway inbetween the trees , i'd be too scared to try that one though as GPS must have been hard to pick up .

looking forward to more mate .

The Mavic was a little difficult to control in the trees which is why I was flying slowly.

yea , you have got to be careful in those situations.
Ive seen quite a few accidents where "return to home" has kicked in due to loss of signal .
That is what its supposed to do, but if the height or hover settings havent been changed , the craft would more likely go straight up and more than likely hit a tree or something.
if faced with that scenario , get ready to cancel RTH or flick into speed mode and that will cancel too.

@Jonah

ive just ordered one of these..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014CKVZWU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

thought you may be interested.
These bags have been reduced to half price and are perfect for the Mavic .
..Not only that but will fit landing mats , tablet , even a full size laptop.
Theres a pullout compartment for the mavic without having to trawl through the bag to get at stuff.

Not many left on Amazon now but they have also been reduced at Currys as well.

Looks good. Wonder if the top could hold my DLSR and an extra lens...

OH hasn't bothered buying a special backpack for exactly that reason, he can't get all his DSLR kit in too. He bought a carry case and puts that in his 40 litre pack.
