I hope if the high street Subway opens back up they don't close the one up by Tesco Express. It's nice and accessible there but if they were to close it in favour of the one with basically no nearby parking then I doubt I'd keep doing "cba to make dinner let's get subway"

I'm pretty certain that subway operate a franchise model, so I doubt that will happen. Customer base will be different too id guess.

Yeah, it didn't close before so hopefully.

Though franchise models generally have an exclusivity area for the franchise. But maybe that's why it's right at the bottom of the street with far less footfall.

Another note, Bap Shop is up for sale again. It was never the same after the last change of hands, the owners prior to current were very friendly but it's since become just another cafe with lower quality food and staff that just want to get the job done. Haven't been there in quite a while because of it.

.

I'm pretty sure the two will be the same franchisee - but they'll have different trading patterns and customer bases - having two in an area helps cuts costs too, which will help.

Talking to someone in the Guildhall Shopping Centre today and they reckoned that the back end was going to become a food court. They mentioned Subway, Spud-u-Like and Burger King as intended occupants. Healthy food outlets for college students? Discuss.
