Drones

There was supposed to be some sort of announcement this morning regarding UK Drone laws.
Plans including flight training as well as drone registration.
cant see this stopping anyone to be honest , i mean , theres plenty of people with a car licence but that doesnt stop them driving like a tw@t .

As for the geo -fencing , thats already been hacked , most responsible drone operators wouldnt do this , but theres plenty of idiots out there that would.

seems like its already been announced ...
http://news.sky.com/story/drones-will-have-to-be-registered-in-the-uk-government-says-10957190

interesting , the report says drones would need to be registered via an app.
....since the latest DJI mavic update , ive already had to register before a flight and click a couple of tickboxes that give me permission to fly in that location . So in that respect , the registration side of things is already being used.

i welcome the flight training , however i reckon this would be some sort of online aptitude test and not something on the lines of the PFAW ( permission for aerial work) test.

My bag arrived today. Looks really good.

Got mine on friday , yes its really well made.
perfect for me as its fits the landing pad and once my screen cover is folded down it can be quite large and both fit in perfectly.

ive arranged my pullout case to fit the mavic and 3 batteries but as my controller has its own case , i just store that in one of the other compartments.

The only issue i see is that if you havent got a stick protector on your controller , it can push on your sticks .
i recommend one of these..

or keep it separate like myself and use one of these...

you dont really need the mavic and battery case as well , but handy to have anyway.

How fast does it go? Do you think you could control it from a moving vehicle? Just having a stupid idea.
speed depends on conditions , but in sport mode it can top 50mph ..but with the wind behind you its possible to add another 20mph to that.

It has the tech to take off and return to a point that has moved course . lots of guys in the remote areas of the USA use these on their vessels .

also , as @Lucy mentions, its can also track other moving objects ;)

Out flying today and the sky went very dark. Managed to get this shot of the Mavic as it was on its way home and just before the rain started.

love these kind of shots.

I notice you managed to get the rotors perfectly shot.
Most guys i know always manage to make them look like boomerangs :)

your shutter speed must have been pretty well matched.

Camera was set at f/22, 1/1000 sec, ISO 1250. Don't normally have the ISO so high. Lens was at 232mm.

love the clouds too , if those are with no editing they have come out really well.

Oh , here's a good site that you can monitor all your flights as well as keep an eye on any issues with batteries etc.
just use the free service as its good for 100 flights before it starts clearing out old ones.
