Back on track, I'm torn, I've always thought it's a pretty tree, and we need more trees and less cars in the world - bit I don't like seeing empty buildings.

Completely agree, not sure if I'm too sure about the building being full of cars....I can't remember how far the conservation zone extends...

In 2013, it was proposed to extend the Conservation Area to include the New Hough - see page 18 here, http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/live/Documents/Planning Policy/Conservation/Conservation Areas/Conservation Areas List/Forebridge CAA 2013.pdf - but, I don't know if the proposal went ahead.

Edit - it looks like it did - http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/live/Documents/Planning Policy/Conservation/Conservation Areas/Conservation Area Boundaries/Forebridge-CA-boundary-2013.pdf - revised on 10/12/2013.

Further edit - somebody seems to think that you can catch a train in Tesco...

On the subject of the Horse Chestnut, looking at it earlier as we popped to Home Bargain it is indeed in a pretty bad way with noticible fungus growing from the trunk.
