Certainly we were the Cricket / Hockey club last night and Brit was in bed no later then he would normally be on a night. Some issues with queueing last night (at the bar, and at the one gate to get out of at the end) but small boy had a great time

Glad you had a good time :)
We moved the hot drinks and soft drinks into the members room this year to try and reduce the queues for the bar. It was a definite improvement from last year but we'll look at what we can do to make it better for next year.
We're a little limited with access having just the one road in and out which will have affected queuing times for people leaving but again we'll see what we can do to improve for next year

We were also at the cricket club, my only gripe was I timed the burger wrong and missed out on any onions!

I know the people running the BBQ already said we need to cook more onions next year. People were allowed to help themselves which unfortunately meant we didn't prepare enough.

No one ever prepares enough onions!

At my fireworks and fizz on Saturday I prepared enough onions to feed an army (and sausages and chilli and rice and vegetarian options and garlic bread ).

I was so worried about not having enough food that I went over the top.

If I'd known that you were going to be short of chopped onions I'd have brought my mountain over to you lot last night. :)

They would have been much appreciated I'm sure. Everyone loves onions :)

The event is getting bigger each year so we're guestimating on the volumes of everything to prepare. Last year we think there were approx 1200 people there, this year we think the numbers exceeded 2000

We went to the bonfire and fireworks at the Highfields social club, the first time we had been to it. We usually go to the MOD and didn't know that it wasn't open to the public till the someone told us it had been on face book. We will definitely be going to the Highfields one again next year. 2.50 to get in. The bonfire was pallets which made an excellent fire - the safety was well planned - the fire and the fireworks were all behind some high industrial safety fences. There was seating and standing area, which was well lit with security lighting.

The fireworks were excellent, they went on for 40 minutes loads of bangs and screamers, the sky was filled with color. Great tasting burgers and real sausages with onions and sauce from the BBQ, all at realistic price.

The bar was well staffed, looks like they put everyone they had behind the bar, no waiting to be served and they had fruit cider, what more do you want from a November night out.

My daughter went to the cricket club one the next night, he said that was great, but I couldn’t face two nights of fireworks.
