There's a series of road works going on in the next few moths doing the gas mains on Castle Hill/Doxey Road/Broad Eye and Chell Road so expect some delays

don't mention the blinds
For the past 18 years all my motoring delays have been voluntary/self inflicted,
you get my drift ? ......

Re Sandon road lights . looks like they have cameras on them ,maybe to catch the twats who go through red lights ..
The temporary lights were gone today and we were back to the joy of the standard ones. There were still a few cones cordoning off a wheelbarrow, but no personnel in sight. There was some sand around a kerbstone - otherwise, I have no idea what it was all about.

I’ve been overseas for years, now I’m back in the real world I was convinced the traffic rules had changed:

Amber now means “put your foot down”.

Red means “stop if it is convenient”.

In all seriousness, this reminds me -
I am now working off the new Redhill site off the A34. When leaving that site you have to enter the A34 at the lights. I've noted how bad people are at approaching that junction from the North and South directions of the A34. Waiting to leave the estate, you would think that green is safe to go! A number of times I have got the green light to go and vehicles have ran the red light and shot straight across in front of me. A real accident waiting to happen! It was reduced to 50 when they put the lights in and I wouldn't be surprised if people shoot across the junction at 60+ . So, in short, I you are coming off that estate make sure you look when the light turns to green or if you are approaching those lights, "SLOW THE HELL DOWN!"

Also a problem for cyclists and peds as the lights are only controlled by vehics leaving industrial estate. If you survive that the lay-by pavement is obstructed by a hedge, a burger van, a line of Audis and broken glass, no to mention the toilet facilities in the nearby ditch. Stafford will be Britain's gridlock capital if they don't get people out of cars and onto bikes.
The council used to have a cycling officer. What happened to that idea?

They have improved the cycling aspect by the lay-by by installing "Cyclists Dismount" signs. The standard answer to this sort of issue.

I look forward to "Drivers Get Out And Walk" signs when the potholes get a bit too much.
