wanna see my snake?
Looking rather good when I peeped through the windows yesterday.
Thanks :)

Today I put up two shelf/rails, I was concerned as to whether I should align with gravity and make them straight, or align with the ceiling and make them look straight but be really crooked. Luckily physics removed the decision from my grasp because several bricks fell apart when drilled and I just had to make do with whatever took hold!

I once had to put up a shelf over a radiator that sloped one way, mounted on a wall with patterned wallpaper that sloped the other way - I can't remember what i did in the end, but nothing looked 'right', whichever of the three possibilities was followed.

There is a difference of about 3cm from laser to ceiling between the left and right:

Due to dodgy walls the right hand side is 0.5cm below the left, but the ceiling accentuates it:

Hopefully once stuff is on it'll look OK!

Trying to fit a shelf but it's slightly too long, missed the stud wall by a few mm:

Can actually see the laser on that, at least I aimed right! Anyway, not a problem some very long screws can't fix!

And a few industrial ones to hold the shelf, as they were the only ones I had big enough!

I have a friend who advertises his Gutter Valeting business on Facebook. Someone, not a million miles away always calls it Gusset Valeting.

Ever had a job you wish you'd not started?Or at least took the easy route? Pictures to follow as knackered, but if anyone ever hears me say that plug sockets look naff with back boxes and we should try to make them flush you are free to slap me.

Opens tomorrow, long evening ahead!
