Car boot sales in Stafford.

I didn't venture up there until tennish - amazed at the tenacity of the vendors - it's chilly enough wandering around, but it must feel much colder standing about.

Nothing for me, but some interesting stuff, not just Christmas tat.

First one of the new season* - not too bad, but nothing for me.

They seemed to be using the Stone Road access for both in and out - there was considerable traffic chaos (of course) and the coppers turned up, offering 'advice' on the matter. Whether they actually offered any assistance, I'm not sure.

* There could have been others, I've been away during the run-up period.

There were no shouty idiots, neither meat nor vegetable-based.

There is the potential for a second run in the morning, weather permitting.

Moist underfoot, but worth going.

Not a lot for me but I did get a socket rail. Like this, but with seven outlets:-

We came back with a delphinium and a selection of hanging-basket plants (but sadly, no everlasting sweet-peas).

And two of these to add to my fleet of Elizabethan warship models.

Had a great day at the car boot, a box of about 30 drill bits all the small sizes that I constantly break, A crowbar, and small jemmy to replace the one I can't find but will instantly turn up now I have replaced it, two cans of paint one which says white exterior gloss and when I checked it is really red gloss, but at 50p is still a bargain and I'm sure I will find something to paint red.

Smaller, but better, I thought - a scraper handle and a (spare) toasting fork.

The most exciting thing was the weird bloke under the railway bridge.

Something that has been on my 'general want list' for some time.

I do feel that you should have to have a licence to possess one, though...
