Anybody on here sell free-range eggs or know of someone who does? We only have eggs once a week but if we can get would much prefer free-range local eggs. TIA

There is, or perhaps was because the last time i went past it wasn't as it had before been afore, a place on the outskirts of Haughton with an honesty box type of arrangement.

Also next door to Izaak Walton's Cottage there certainly was, and one assumes still is, such a source.

There's probably closer stuff out Cannock way if you're still somewhere Baswichy, so @Carole might be better placed to advise.

There is somewhere in Bednall that has an honesty box.

They don’t have many chickens, only about a few dozen eggs a day so it’s a bit of a bun fight first thing in the morning in the village to be honest.

The egg farm at Bednall Head have free range chickens, I think. It’s my second best place to go.

There's a place opposite the fire station at Loggerheads, called Bens Eggs, I believe they're free range.

Eccleshall Road, almost opposite the old Brooklands school there is a place that sells free range eggs, in one of the big houses

This is where I get mine, I got the last half dozen this morning.
On Easter Sunday I bought 2 boxes and when I got home and opened them, in each box were 5 normal eggs and a Cadbury’s creme egg.
Clever clever chickens!!

Bugger all use though if you really needed a dozen eggs for some emergency baking or omletting.

Eggsactly (see what I did there?)

I was actually baking 3 cakes and needed a dozen eggs. It was such a nice gesture though and the owners of the chickens are friends of mine.
I just made 2 cakes that day and enjoyed the chocolate, which to be honest wasn’t a huge inconvenience :)

Farm at Bednall Head for me.

I’ve just been in today and found out that sadly they are closing permanently at the end of May.

It’s a shame really because with a bit of money and imagination spent on it, it could have been so much more.

Anyone can use it but to be honest her chickens are just a hobby rather than a business opportunity.

She puts her spare eggs on the shelf at about 8.30 in the morning, there are usually only 2 or 3 boxes so it’s just a matter of luck if there are any there. My back up was always Bednall Head Farm.
