Marston Lane will be entertaining.

Would it not be feasible to wait until the road through the Taylor Wimpey estate is done, then run through there?

If the lights didn't keep changing to prioritise Silkmore Lane / Rickerscote as frequently, or unless there was traffic wanting to turn in or out of the junction, then more trucks could get through, and if similar 'common sense' to traffic control was applied through the town during such times, then there would be much less backlog of traffic and much less disturbance to residents, and much less frustration for the diverted drivers.

Stafford can't even sort out the traffic light timing for normal everyday driving. Seems to be virtually no effort to match sets of lights to each other to avoid stopping traffic at every set of lights

Cue, the traffic light game.Think I picked this up on here a while ago.
Anyone driving into Stafford, for every traffic light you go through without stopping have a point. For every stop deduct a point. More often than not you're in a minus points situation by journeys end.

What happened to drivers takin responsibility for when they pulled out of a junction. Perhaps if they applied that logic, just overnight, and turned the bloody lights off, traffic might actually flow through the town. . . . . . . But what do I know........

Apparently there is a gap in the queue . . . Must be the 'Boon Grove Triangle' . . . :D . . . but from here it's not that obvious :?:

The queues down the A5 to Gailey were way past the Lapley turning at 8.15 this morning, I'm guessing as a knock on effect.
