Vanity and pride are different things, though the words are often used synonymously. A person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.

To be honest The Swan`s standards have slipped for a good while. Inside looks tatty.

The dog and doublet seem rudderless / clueless and the food served as part of a work day time function a couple of months ago at the moat house was below par.

Loads of staff turnover and internal wrangles over the last couple of years (at the d&d at least).

Either loosing their touch or eye taken off the ball
Seems to be the same at the Bank House at Hixon. Standards have dropped recently. Food and service quite poor now. Seems like the novelty has worn off or maybe they don't think they need to try since the Green Man stopped doing meals

Unfortunately I can’t comment on such a random statement as you well know if your a customer of ours we take all feedback seriously and reply to any reviews posted via our ResDiary feedback portal, we have fortnightly meetings where we review any such reviews and always try to improve and learn from constructive feedback, unfortunately I disagree that standards have slipped across our properties yes we’re not perfect but we are committed to what we do. Please feel free to email or phone me personally to discuss this if you feel I can do more.

Balancing out the less positive reviews, a group of us went to the moat house for and evening meal/ stay for a special occasion at the weekend.

Best meal I have in a long time anywhere....all of us thought it was superb, great service all the way up to breakfast the next day.

That is the high standard I have have come to know and love :)
