Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Interesting mental gymnastics in the local rag today.

The sale of The Swan is apparently a boost to the town because it shows interest in the town centre from businesses?

So because a longstanding business has been sold to another firm due to them wanting to focus on their other businesses (though I find it no coincidence that all Lewis locations are now gone from the high street, probably not massively profitable to keep them open) that’s a good thing for the town? Okay?

It might be a good thing , proactive says town crap anyway. so maybe time for a change if it failing so badly ( in the eyes of some) with those at the helm.

Depends how one looks at it, as a pessimist or positively.

The fact a reputable national business has bought it out is a good thing.

They will have done significant due diligence looked at the books, the business, area and potential and thought it is was the worth purchase.

Better than that happening and nobody was interested in it thinking about was not worthwhile and it closing.

Someone purchasing a landmark business and keeping it running is great for the town.

The old Argos in town has now closed , it just redirects you to Sainsbury's now.

Thing is , the new store looks alright if a bit pokey, it doesn't take up the whole space for whatever reason, so looks a bit unfinished, with just a padlock swung on the other half , unless their planning on putting some other store there ?

Anyway, the annoying thing is, both staff members in the store, seemed new, did they axe everyone from the other store ??

It does have more hours though, opening till 10 Monday - Friday, can't say about if there's been a stock reduction, but there almost definitely probably has.

The part next door is to be a learning hub. The staff are a mix of original staff & staff from Stoke to help out with the opening. There are 13 staff there in total, not everything goes on on the front line. ;) No stock reduction.

Nice place, no shortage of dickheads, expensive.
Just my opinion obviously .
Edit for cider: Bad Apple is a lovely drop but not at £4.50 a pop.

I've only ever been in the morning and the clientele were tame or staying over

The expensive bit is useful because so am I
