I've just had a Cycling News ad pop up -

Tour de France: The battle of the sprinters.

Out of the corner of my eye, I thought, for a short moment, that it said "sphincters".....

On a related theme I keep reading Monster Carp as something else on my TV guide as I'm flicking through the channels.

The old Stafford Carp Centre, by the Prison, and the fabulous Total Carp magazine both have a similar effect here.

As I was collecting redundant paperwork for the blue bin, I picked up a Lidl Christmas food catalogue, which fell open at a page largely concerning pork-based products.

The item in the top corner caught my eye - it was a three-foot long piece of sausage-meat, wrapped in bacon and displayed as a sort of double coil arrangement.

Their description of it was "Birchwood British Yard Long Pig In Blanket".

Although, it was the words "Long Pig" that leapt out at me, in a slightly disturbing manner...

The story by Philip K. Dick 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep' that eventually became the basis for 'Blade Runner.' I've been a SciFi fan all my life, but was never quite sure of Philip K. Dick stories, they tend to be a bit 'off the wall' which admittedly is a strange thing to say about science fiction stories.
