Wasn't he a character in Z Cars?Never forget that the peas are not just peas, they are Fancy Peas.
Purely in the interests of data gathering on behalf of the Forum, I managed to force myself to have the Chicken in white wine sauce today.
I didn't complete my counting of the peas, but there was a lot more than twenty.
There was, indeed, a plentiful amount of white wine sauce, possibly due to the considerable amount of chicken that was in it.
The quantity of the sauce seems to have been accurately gauged as there was none of it, or anything else, left at the end.

Little to give away that it wasn't forty years ago, apart from the style of the glass, the fact that the chalkboard wasn't written with an actual stick of chalk and the dormant thermoelectric fan on the unlit stove.
There was a small downside - I spent ten seconds looking for the choke knob when I got back in the car.
It was definitely well into double figures, if not even more, and they were still the excellent Fancy Peas. That's all well and good but, for God's sake man, tell us how many peas were on your plate!
