I wonder what is going into them? Maybe temporary shops for Christmas? Like the calendar one that normally opens?Seems like both the old Co-op travel store, and Thomas Cook have been let with work being undertaken in both units.
The outside of the bear grill has also started being painted.
John Lewis and a mini Waitrose, I hear.I wonder what is going into them? Maybe temporary shops for Christmas? Like the calendar one that normally opens?

The way things are going no one will be getting either, and they probably regret building the Birmingham store too.John Lewis and a mini Waitrose, I hear.
A lot of the Big Names run the risk of becoming smaller...The way things are going no one will be getting either, and they probably regret building the Birmingham store too.
What is this, where will it be, and how do I prevent my husband from finding it?Stafford is getting a beer bottle shop.
Fantastic. I know where I will be spending all my money now.
People will pay to park when there is a compelling offering of shops in the town centre.Staffordshire County Council wants to roll out more on-street parking charges in town centres as part of next year's budget.
There are currently on-street parking charges in Burton and Newcastle, but none in Stafford, Cannock or Hednesford.
Spokeswoman Paula Wright said the charges would be for short-stay.
She added they were 'popular' in town centres as they moved on parked motorists and increased the availability of spaces.
People will pay to park when there is a compelling offering of shops in the town centre.
When there isn't, people will pay more to travel to and park elsewhere.
Telford, Shrewsbury, Lichfield, have no shortage of people willing to travel to and park there.
Indeed. The problem with introducing on street charges in Stafford, is that the last few years has seen a large growth in car parks with 2 hours free parking or, in the case, of Chell Road car park, where you can get your money back.Personally I just park at Asda/Kingsmead/Madford. I've never parked on-street but I also rarely go into town other than to Riverside or the odd trip to CEX because the retail parks offer far more and often have duplicated shops (Home Bargains for instance)
