Thats a nice looking kit from Monogram, though I think they have no ceased to exist with Revell USA and Revell GmbH merging only just last week.

I do remember reading about the NB-36H and its nuclear powdered experimental capabilities. Interesting concept but it would never have taken off....see what I did there?

The Soviets stuck a reactor in a Bear - the slimmer fuselage requiring slight fairings to accommodate it.

I absolutely love the TU-59 Bear. Menacing and graceful at the same time.

This is a great documentary series to watch, especially for Soviet aviation

Great plane - still trundling on - and remarkably reliable.

Haven't watched the video yet, but I hope it shows the extendable refuelling probe - that makes docking with the drogue so much easier. Line up with the drogue, get within a few feet, then quickly extend it, rather than try to push the whole plane forwards...

There are quite a few documentaries on YouTube for Wings of the Red Star - the TU-160 White Swan...or as we know it, the Rockwell B1-B Lancer is interesting too.

I've watched most - I might even have watched the Nuclear Bear one a while back - we'll (I'll) see later...

They get accused of copying anything that has even a vaguely similar outline - I'm often tempted to ask what they copied the Tu 95 from, although it had its genetic ancestry going back to the three B-29s that landed in the Soviet Far East after Japan raids and led on through the Bull and the Badger, I suppose...

Indeed, they did, the Bull was essentially a re-engineered B-29, but little would fit a Tu 95, I suspect.

It's rare to see anybody mention where the fashion for twin-finned fighters started, though..
