I can see how people were excited in 1937 when the Odeon arrived in Stafford, but who cares now? .

Quite a lot of people are excited about this.

Different strokes for different folks.
If something new is opening in town, that will bring people in, then what’s not to like?

Even if you don’t personally like “that thing” you can surely see that it’s a huge benefit to Stafford.

Not everyone goes to everything, but how fantastic that new things are happening in the town.

I’m personally very excited about the cinema, bring it on.

Sod that. I'm going to the Sandonia. I can watch 'Plan 9 from Outer Space' while catching pneumonia and having roof debris falling on my head. It's called 'reality' cinema !!! :heyhey:

Eat yer heart out film fans …. :bum:

Even in my capacity as Miserable Old Sod, I can see that for a few months at least this 'thing' will be very busy, but in the longer term I'm not convinced it will help clear the tumbleweeds at the north end of town. The opposite, I suspect.

Ah good, bright beige chairs in a cinema really didn’t make much sense to me.

Well as the cinema is at the south end it will not an ounce of impact on the north end. The council has a bigger plan for that and thankfully it doesn't involve retail.

Plus it is a cinema so will not solve all of town issues and will not have any impact on the retail element, that is a dying breeding nationally which will only continue.

It will improve the night life and Stafford as an evening destination, no question about that. People will continue to go and it won't make it worse.

Is that the residential redevopment of the north? Thought that was years away?
