Sorry the reality is that most people probably don't share your concern... That said the link to the Bank House Restaurant is a credible one....

Feel a made for TV Xmas movie coming on here. All about the loss of the Christmas spirit and people not sharing my concern.....

Are there any reliable cost/benefit analyses of the economic effects of the presence of Christmas lights on a local economy?

I can't be the only one that basically doesn't notice the lights when walking about town? They don't exactly stand out and aren't terribly abundant.

How do I edit this?
The town Christmas lights were off yesterday and again today. What gives?

The market square and tree in total darkness in the festive period. A fault?

Gives a bad impression of Stafford. Especially to those travelling in for the panto etc.

An utter disgrace. It only goes to show the part-time, in-it-for-themselves nature of our public employees. How dare the council give their employees Boxing Day off! They should have someone watching those circuit breakers 24/7 all through Christmas - you can't let someone's expectation of a family life get in the way of other people's shopping experience...

There are places where it's worth keeping one eye on the grids.

Indeed. And dropped ice cubes - the wife got incredibly unlucky and stepped on a rather solid ice cube on the floor a couple of weeks ago while we were about town, put her out of action for a wile. Was almost looking like we'd be having pizza on Christmas Day...
